Algeria qualified for the quarter-finals of the 2025 FIFA Arab Cup after a strong 2-0 victory over Iraq at Khalifa International Stadium in Doha. This match was part of the third and final round of Group D, and the result helped Algeria move to seven points, placing them at the top of the group. Despite the loss, Iraq remained on six points, which was enough for them to secure second place and also advance to the quarter-finals.
The game showed Algeria’s solid performance, both in attack and defense, as they controlled the match and prevented Iraq from creating major chances. Their win also demonstrated their readiness for the next stage of the tournament, where competition will become tougher. Iraq, even with the defeat, had shown strong performances earlier in the group, allowing them to stay in the qualification zone.
In the group’s other match, Bahrain earned a 3-1 win over Sudan at Education City Stadium. However, the result did not change their positions, as both Bahrain and Sudan exited the tournament after failing to collect enough points to move forward.
With Algeria and Iraq both moving to the next round, fans are now waiting to see who they will face in the knockout stage. The upcoming matches will decide which teams continue their journey toward winning the title. The 2025 FIFA Arab Cup continues to deliver exciting football moments, and teams across the region are fighting hard for a place in the final stages.
