The beautiful region of AlUla in Saudi Arabia has started a special event called the Summer Fruits Season. This event is part of a bigger program named "Khayrat AlUla," created by the Royal Commission for AlUla (RCU). The goal of this program is to promote the area's farming and show how farming is closely tied to the region’s culture, economy, and daily life.

This new season is being held from July 22 to July 28 at the Al Manshiyah Farmers’ Market, a popular local place where farmers gather. During this time, farmers will display and sell many kinds of fruits that are grown in AlUla. Some of the most loved fruits include mangoes, grapes, and figs, all picked fresh from local trees.

Supporting Local Farmers and Their Hard Work

Farming has always been an important part of life in AlUla. The Summer Fruits Season gives a great chance for local farmers to share their hard work with others. It also helps them earn income by selling their fruits directly to visitors. Many people from the region, and even tourists, visit this event to taste and buy fresh fruits, straight from the farms.

The event also includes families who produce homemade food and products, such as jams, juices, snacks, and crafts. These families join the farmers in the market and help create a lively, happy, and community-centered atmosphere. It's not just about buying fruits; it's about enjoying the culture, history, and love that the people of AlUla put into their work.

AlUla’s Rich Fruit Harvest: Over 4,900 Tons Every Year

AlUla is known for producing a large amount of summer fruits every year. In fact, the region grows more than 4,900 tons of fruits during the summer. These fruits come from about 216,000 trees spread across the area. This shows how big and successful AlUla’s farming has become.

The Summer Fruits Season celebrates this success. It reminds people of how important farming is, not only for food but also for jobs, traditions, and tourism. Many people rely on farming to support their families, and events like this help them reach more customers and grow their businesses.

Part of a Bigger Plan: Khayrat AlUla Initiative

The Summer Fruits Season is just one part of the bigger "Khayrat AlUla" initiative. This program includes many other farming events throughout the year. These events focus on other products like dates, citrus fruits, grapes, and honey. Each season has its own special celebration, giving farmers many chances to share their produce and connect with customers.

The purpose of Khayrat AlUla is to bring attention to the value of farming in the area. It encourages people to support local agriculture and take pride in what the land produces. It also helps to bring new ideas and tools to farmers, making their work easier and more effective.

Connecting to Saudi Vision 2030

The Royal Commission for AlUla is working to support the goals of Saudi Vision 2030. This national plan aims to build a stronger, more diverse economy that is not only dependent on oil. It includes goals like protecting cultural heritage, creating jobs, and making cities and rural areas better places to live.

Farming events like the Summer Fruits Season help achieve these goals. They promote local production, help small businesses grow, and attract tourists to learn more about Saudi culture. They also encourage young people to get involved in farming, making it a respected and modern career option.

Helping Farmers Sell More and Reach More People

One of the best things about this event is that it helps farmers sell their fruits directly to visitors. Instead of depending only on middlemen or big stores, farmers can talk to customers themselves, share their stories, and explain how they grow their fruits.

This kind of connection helps build trust. People are more likely to buy from farmers they meet in person. It also allows farmers to get better prices for their products and learn what customers want. Many farmers use this feedback to improve their farming practices and create new fruit-based products.

Boosting Tourism and Local Business

AlUla is already a famous tourist destination, known for its ancient landmarks, beautiful landscapes, and unique culture. The Summer Fruits Season adds one more reason for tourists to visit. It gives them a taste of local life, literally and emotionally.

Visitors enjoy walking through the farmers' market, tasting fruits, talking to farmers, and buying local goods. Some tourists even plan their visit to AlUla during this season just to experience this event. This helps local cafés, hotels, shops, and transport businesses earn more, making the event important for the whole economy.

Bringing the Community Together

Events like the Summer Fruits Season bring people together. Families come to enjoy the festive atmosphere. Children learn about farming, and adults take pride in their local produce. The event encourages community bonding and helps keep traditions alive.

The event also allows different parts of the community—farmers, business owners, women’s groups, young people—to work together and learn from each other. This makes the entire region stronger, united, and ready for the future.

A Brighter, More Sustainable Future for AlUla

The Summer Fruits Season is not just about selling fruits. It is about building a better future. It shows how farming can be both traditional and modern, combining old knowledge with new technology.

The event gives hope to farmers, helps protect the environment, and inspires the next generation. It proves that with support and care, agriculture can become a pillar of success for both the people and the land of AlUla.

The Summer Fruits Season in AlUla is a wonderful celebration of farming, community, and local culture. It helps farmers share their fresh fruits, supports families, and welcomes visitors from all over. As part of the Khayrat AlUla initiative, this event helps create a more secure, proud, and sustainable future for everyone in the region.

With the help of RCU and the support of the community, AlUla is becoming a shining example of how local traditions and modern development can grow together in harmony.
