The Anaheim Ducks secured a thrilling 4-3 win against the Boston Bruins in an NHL matchup on Wednesday night. Ian Moore netted the decisive goal with just 3:35 left in the third period, while Lukas Dostal showcased his skills with 36 saves throughout the game.
The Bruins, facing a tough challenge, managed to equalize twice after trailing 2-0 and 3-1. Morgan Geekie's second goal of the night tied the game at 3-3 in the third period. However, Moore, receiving a pass from Leo Carlsson in the high slot, fired a slap shot that deflected past Bruins goalie Joonas Korpisalo, securing the Ducks’ lead.
Alongside Moore’s stellar play, contributions came from Jansen Harkins, Radko Gudas, and Ryan Strome with goals. Mason McTavish added two assists, enhancing the Ducks' momentum as they achieved their second win in a row, extending their home win streak to six games.
Dostal improved to a 10-5-1 record during the season, making 17 saves in the opening period alone. On the other hand, Geekie scored twice for Boston, while Eyssimont added another. Despite the Bruins' higher shot count (39-33) and two power-play goals, they fell short against the Ducks, who capitalized with one power-play goal from three chances.
Anaheim took an early lead as Harkins scored just 2:29 into the game, converting a rebound from Nikita Nesterenko’s shot with an assist from Russ Johnston. Gudas then made it 2-0 with a blue-line shot deflecting off a Bruins player. Boston's response came on a power play, as Geekie tipped a shot from Hampus Lindholm, reducing the deficit to 2-1 by the end of the first period. Dostal’s vital save against a 2-on-0 rush by Nikita Zadorov was a highlight of that period.
As the second period began, the Bruins pushed aggressively, but Strome extended Anaheim's lead with a power-play goal at 13:47. Dostal’s consistent performance included critical saves, but Eyssimont found the net for the Bruins with 1:33 remaining in the second, closing the gap to 3-2 ahead of the final frame.
In the third period, Boston tied the game 3-3 within seconds of a power play, with Geekie once again tipping a shot past Dostal. Both teams had opportunities to take the lead, yet both goalies delivered crucial saves. Ultimately, Moore’s late goal clinched a memorable 4-3 victory for the Ducks.
With strong performances and timely scoring, Anaheim achieved back-to-back wins, whereas Boston faced their third loss in the last four games.
