Bollywood stars Neha Dhupia and Angad Bedi, admired by many, recently shared insights into their marriage and how filmmaker Karan Johar was instrumental in bringing them back together. The couple tied the knot privately in a gurdwara in 2018, keeping much of their relationship low-key, much to the surprise of fans and the media. Angad opened up about their love story, describing the challenges and fortunate moments that led to their union.
Angad first met Neha at a gym where she was filming cycling sequences. Impressed by her commitment to fitness, he made several visits to get a glimpse of her before drifting away for personal reasons. Their next encounter was more significant when cricketer Yuvraj Singh invited Angad to a party in Mumbai, where Neha was also present. After their brief conversation at Angad’s home following the party, their on-screen collaborations in films like Ungli brought them closer. Angad revealed that accepting certain roles was motivated by the chance to spend time with Neha, culminating in his heartfelt proposal.
However, gaining approval from Neha's family was not an easy task. After approaching her parents in Delhi, he faced initial rejection due to his financial situation. Angad famously stated, "I am nobody, and I have no money, but if you marry me, I will become something." Despite the setback, they remained friends, although life’s demands caused some distance.
The turning point came when Angad was on location in Punjab for the film Soorma, and Neha invited him to a Diwali celebration. Karan Johar's presence at this event was pivotal; he encouraged the couple to reconnect. Angad described Karan’s influence as transformative, saying, "He told us, 'You two are meant to be together.'" Shortly thereafter, their engagement and wedding unfolded rapidly, marking a joyful turn in their lives. Today, the couple proudly parents two children, daughter Mehr and son Guriq, cherishing their family life.
Professionally, Neha continues to shine and was recently featured in the web series Single Papa alongside Kunal Kemmu and others. With positive reviews, the comedy-drama directed by Shashank Khaitan is currently streaming on Netflix. Angad Bedi and Neha Dhupia’s love story exemplifies persistence, love, and fate’s surprising ways, highlighting Karan Johar’s vital role in their journey.
This touching account of Bollywood romance, reconciliation, and family underscores the importance of connections within the industry, cementing Angad Bedi and Neha Dhupia as one of Indian cinema's adored couples.
