It’s no surprise that the spotlight at the 2026 Latin Grammy Awards was firmly on Bad Bunny. The Puerto Rican star claimed Album of the Year for his groundbreaking work Debí Tirar Más Fotos, dedicating this honor to his family, friends, and beloved Puerto Rico: “I love you, thank you.”
Born Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, Bad Bunny quickly made his mark by winning the Música Urbana Album award early in the evening. He later accepted the award for Música Urbana Song for his hit “DTmF,” and performed alongside Chuwi during his third appearance on stage for “Weltita.” True to his unique approach, Bad Bunny confessed, “I never practice my speeches.”
Though Bad Bunny dominated the event, several talented artists were also honored. Song of the Year was awarded to Karol G, Andrés Jael Correa Ríos, and Édgar Barrera for their track Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido. Alejandro Sanz received the Record of the Year accolade for ¿Y Ahora Qué?, while Paloma Morphy was celebrated as Best New Artist. Gloria Estefan’s Traditional Tropical Album Raíces and Christian Nodal’s Ranchero/Mariachi Album ¿Quién + Como Yo? also received recognition.
This year’s 26th annual Latin Grammys took place live at Las Vegas' MGM Grand Garden Arena and was full of energetic performances. Santana and Maluma kicked off the show with the timeless Oye Como Va, and Raphael delivered a heartfelt rendition of Qué Sabe Nadie. In a romantic duet, Karol G and Marco Antonio Solís sang Coleccionando Heridas. The audience was further energized by Grupo Frontera and Fuerza Regida’s Me Jalo and Marlboro Rojo, while Rauw Alejandro, Elena Rose, Danny Lux, Kakalo, and Ivan Cornejo showcased fresh Latin beats. Carín León and Kacey Musgraves captivated the crowds with their tracks Ahí Estabas Tú and Lost in Translation.
The pre-televised Premiere Ceremony saw the distribution of several awards. Bad Bunny’s Voy A Llevarte Pa Pr won Reggaeton Performance, while Ca7riel & Paco Amoroso made a significant impact, taking home five awards, including Best Alternative Music Album and Best Pop Song.
Hosted by Maluma and Roselyn Sánchez, the show was infused with energy and charisma throughout the three-hour broadcast. Attendees witnessed a vibrant mix of musical legends and emerging stars, showcasing the dynamic nature of Latin music today. The 2026 Latin Grammys not only solidified Bad Bunny’s status but also celebrated the diverse and rich talent within the Latin music community.
