Bahrain Hosts Arabian Horse Beauty Championship 2025-26

Post by : Mariam Al-Faris

The Bahrain National Arabian Horse Beauty Championship began at the Military Sports Union arena at the Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club in Al Raffah. This marks the first event of the Arabian Horse Beauty Committee under the Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (BREEF) for the 2025–2026 season. The championship celebrates Bahrain’s rich heritage and dedication to breeding purebred Arabian horses.

The opening day featured qualifying and final rounds for three main categories: yearling fillies (A and B), junior fillies (A and B), and mares (A and B). The competitions were supervised by five judges, five members of the disciplinary committee, and two arena directors, all accredited by a European Arabian horse organisation. This ensured high standards of judging and competition for participants from various stables.

His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, President of BREEF, highlighted the continued support of the Federation for Arabian horse beauty competitions, describing them as a vital part of Bahrain’s culture and heritage. He emphasized that the championship reflects Bahrain’s national passion for purebred Arabian horses and reinforces the Kingdom’s status as a regional hub for Arabian horse breeding.

HH Shaikh Isa praised the Arabian Horse Beauty Committee for their efforts in preparing for the season. He noted that their dedication contributes to the development of equestrian sports in Bahrain and encourages stables and owners to improve local breeding programs. He also appreciated the media for their role in promoting equestrian events, helping increase awareness and interest in the sport.

The championship was supported by several partners and sponsors, whose contributions strengthen community engagement and promote the sports sector. HH Shaikh Isa extended his gratitude to diamond partners Bapco Energies and Al Salam Bank, platinum sponsor BINAA, gold sponsor stc, and silver sponsors Alba, the Economic Development Board, GPIC, and Bahrain Marina. Bronze sponsors included Bahrain Development Bank, Yusuf bin Ahmed Kanoo, SICO, BBK, Ascon, Al Safwa, and The Arabian Horse.

In the yearling fillies category, the gold medal was awarded to Ghaliya Al Haram from Al Haram Stud, the silver went to Anwar Al Harm, also from Al Haram Stud, and the bronze was claimed by Fareeda Al Raheel from Al Raheel Stud.

For the junior fillies, Aalia Al Haddar from Al Hayat Stud won gold, Manayer owned by Fadhel Haider earned silver, and Aali Queen Victoria from Zouheir Hawilo took the bronze medal.

In the mares category, Jihandra from Osama Al Haram secured the gold medal, De Asaliyah from Dubai Arabian Stud earned silver, and TFK Hala owned by Talal Fawzi Kanoo won bronze. These results highlight the competitive spirit and high standards of breeding in Bahrain.

The championship not only showcases the beauty and elegance of Arabian horses but also strengthens Bahrain’s reputation in equestrian sports. With careful judging, strong sponsorship, and active media coverage, the event promotes local breeding programs and encourages more people to participate in the Arabian horse community. The BREEF aims to continue expanding these competitions, making them a central part of Bahrain’s equestrian culture and an annual highlight for breeders, owners, and enthusiasts across the region.
