Hollywood star Bella Thorne has publicly defended Priyanka Chopra amid growing online criticism concerning a viral airport moment, where some accused Priyanka of staging an autograph encounter for publicity.
The controversy reignited when an older video surfaced, showcasing Priyanka Chopra at an airport where she signed autographs for fans—once at the entrance and again moments later in front of media cameras. Skeptics on social media questioned its genuineness, implying that her public relations team orchestrated the event to garner attention. This led to a lively online discussion, with numerous commenters branding it a “fabricated PR stunt” and questioning the sincerity of the event.
In response to one popular post, Bella Thorne interjected, defending Priyanka’s conduct. She remarked, “No, I don’t see this as a PR ploy. People just follow you around the terminal. They even sell those pages online.”
Thorne elaborated, “That’s why it’s on a plain piece of paper. They can utilize your signature and Photoshop it over anything they wish. Regardless, I’m skeptical that she set this up. She’s merely being gracious and signing again because they keep pursuing her through the airport.”
Meanwhile, Priyanka Chopra is gearing up for her comeback to Indian cinema, starring in SS Rajamouli’s Telugu film Varanasi along with Mahesh Babu and Prithviraj Sukumaran, set to release for Sankranthi in 2027. She will play the role of Mandakini, with Mahesh Babu portraying Rudhra and Prithviraj as Kumbha.
On the international front, Priyanka features in The Bluff as a 19th-century Caribbean pirate and is currently developing the second season of Citadel. She was also recently seen in Heads of State alongside Idris Elba and John Cena, which premiered on Prime Video.
