Turkmenistan's Leader Engages with Austria's President in Vienna

During an official visit to Austria, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow, the National Leader of Turkmenistan and Chairman of the People's Council, had a significant meeting with President Alexander Van der Bellen, aimed at bolstering bilateral relations.

The encounter commenced with a ceremonial welcome and a photo opportunity in front of the flags of both nations. President Van der Bellen extended a warm greeting to his Turkmen counterpart, expressing his gratitude for the visit.

In discussions, Berdimuhamedow shared warm regards from President Serdar Berdimuhamedow and underscored the visit's importance for advancing political, economic, cultural, and humanitarian collaboration.

Both leaders reaffirmed their dedication to peace and neutrality, acknowledging that Turkmenistan and Austria commemorate similar milestones concerning their neutral status. They advocated for resolving global issues through political dialogue and diplomacy.

Conversations also revolved around enhancing trade and economic ties, specifically in areas such as green energy, digitalization, artificial intelligence, and urban advancement. Both sides concurred on the necessity to intensify collaboration and leverage available opportunities.

The importance of humanitarian and educational links was also highlighted, focusing on academic exchanges and university collaborations. Cultural initiatives, including joint events and concerts, continue to foster connections between the peoples of both nations.

The meeting concluded with an invitation from the Turkmen leader for President Van der Bellen to visit Ashgabat, reinforcing the commitment to enduring, beneficial cooperation between their countries.
