Brad Pitt Takes Legal Action Against Angelina Jolie Over Winery Sale

Post by : Meena Hassan

In a significant turn in the protracted legal saga between Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, the Fight Club actor has lodged a lawsuit concerning their jointly-owned Chateau Miraval winery. Documents submitted to the court cite exchanges between Brad's legal team and Jolie’s representatives about her sale of her share in the winery back in 2021.

The couple finalized their divorce in December 2024, after nearly eight years from their initial separation in 2016. Sharing six children—Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Vivienne, and Knox—they have found themselves embroiled in numerous legal disputes since parting ways.

Brad first filed a lawsuit in 2022, asserting that Angelina sold her share contrary to a mutual agreement that prohibited either party from selling without consent from the other.

Recent court documents reveal an email from Jolie’s lawyers dated November 2023, which responds to Brad’s lawsuit. Her legal team contends that the request to substantiate $35 million in damages is a complication caused by Mr. Pitt himself.

Furthermore, Angelina’s attorneys pointed out that Brad is pursuing “ongoing damages for alleged harm to Miraval's current operations” but has failed to present evidence justifying his insistence on a four-year NDA concerning personal misconduct.

Brad Pitt is currently demanding 22 specific documents, contesting Angelina Jolie’s recent assertion of attorney-client privilege to keep certain communications confidential.
