Citymoov App Launch At Yas Mall Encourages Fun And Healthy Living

Post by : Mariam Al-Faris

More than 600 residents gathered at Yas Mall to celebrate the launch of Citymoov, an innovative mobile app developed by the Abu Dhabi Public Health Centre (ADPHC). The app is designed to make healthy living fun and easy for everyone. By turning daily movement into exciting adventures, Citymoov encourages people to stay active while exploring Abu Dhabi’s public spaces.

What Is Citymoov

Citymoov transforms walking, jogging, or any movement into an interactive digital scavenger hunt. These hunts, called quests, challenge participants to find clues, complete tasks, and explore their surroundings. By gamifying physical activity, the app motivates users to exercise without feeling like a chore. The app also allows residents to participate individually or with friends and family, making movement a social experience.

Master Quests At The Launch

The launch event at Yas Mall introduced participants to one of the first-ever Master Quests. Residents raced against time to unlock clues and finish challenges set across the mall. The event was designed to showcase how the app works and to demonstrate how movement can be entertaining. Participants who completed the quest in less than 25 minutes received prizes and giveaways. The fastest competitor won a premium fitness hamper that included an Apple Watch and headphones, highlighting the competitive and rewarding side of the app.

Message From ADPHC Director

Dr. Rashed Al Suwaidi, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Public Health Centre, spoke at the launch about the importance of Citymoov. He said: “Citymoov is more than an app, it’s a movement. By turning Abu Dhabi’s public spaces into areas for play, exploration, and connection, we are making healthy choices fun and accessible for everyone. With Citymoov, staying active becomes an exciting adventure, not a task.” This shows the app’s goal is not just physical fitness, but also to create a positive and engaging experience for the community.

Competitions To Keep Residents Active

The launch also announced two ongoing competitions to encourage residents to stay active and engaged with Citymoov:

Creator Mode Competition

In this competition, residents can create their own quests using the app’s Creator Mode. They can design challenges, hide clues, and share their quests with friends, family, and colleagues. The three quests with the most plays by Friday, 5 December, will win prizes from a pool worth AED 50,000. This feature encourages creativity while motivating people to engage with the app and promote healthy activity in their communities.

Master Quest Competition

In the Master Quest Competition, participants can complete five specially designed quests across Abu Dhabi’s most famous locations. These include the Louvre Abu Dhabi, Yas Marina Circuit, Yas Mall, Mamsha Beach, and Marsana Beach. Each month, the five fastest people to complete all five Master Quests will win a top-of-the-range fitness watch. This competitive element adds excitement and encourages regular participation, motivating residents to explore different areas of the city while staying active.

Benefits Of Citymoov

Citymoov is more than just a fitness app. It reflects Abu Dhabi’s commitment to building a healthier, more connected community. By combining technology, play, and exercise, the app makes healthy living accessible for people of all ages. Families, friends, and colleagues can join together, participate in quests, and celebrate their achievements. The app turns ordinary movement into a fun, interactive, and rewarding experience.

Encouraging Healthy Habits

One of the main goals of Citymoov is to encourage healthy habits among residents. Physical activity is essential for a healthy lifestyle, but many people find exercise boring or difficult to fit into their busy schedules. By gamifying movement and introducing interactive challenges, Citymoov makes exercise exciting and motivating. Residents can track their progress, compete in quests, and earn rewards, which helps reinforce healthy habits over time.

Technology Meets Community

Citymoov also demonstrates how technology can strengthen community bonds. Participants can compete together, create their own quests, and share experiences with others. By using public spaces like Yas Mall, beaches, and cultural landmarks, the app encourages residents to connect with their city and with each other. This combination of fitness, play, and community engagement makes Citymoov a unique initiative in Abu Dhabi’s public health strategy.

Promoting Abu Dhabi’s Public Spaces

Another benefit of Citymoov is that it encourages people to explore Abu Dhabi’s public areas. By turning locations like Yas Mall, Mamsha Beach, and the Louvre Abu Dhabi into interactive adventure spaces, the app helps residents discover and enjoy these areas in new ways. This not only promotes healthy activity but also increases public awareness of cultural, recreational, and social spaces across the city.

Rewards And Motivation

To keep residents motivated, Citymoov provides rewards for completing quests. These include fitness accessories, premium hampers, and other prizes for top performers. This incentive-based system encourages users to stay active, explore the city, and participate in multiple quests. Gamification and rewards make exercise exciting and create a sense of accomplishment, which can improve long-term adherence to a healthy lifestyle.

Family-Friendly And Inclusive

Citymoov is designed to be inclusive and family-friendly. Everyone, from children to adults, can participate in quests. Families can enjoy challenges together, building bonds while promoting fitness. Colleagues can use the app to create team challenges, and friends can compete to see who completes quests the fastest. This social and inclusive aspect ensures that the app contributes to both physical health and social connection.

Building A Healthier Abu Dhabi

Through Citymoov, Abu Dhabi is setting an example of how technology can be used to promote public health. The app combines fitness, education, exploration, and social connection in a single platform. It encourages residents to make healthy choices every day while having fun. This innovative approach reflects Abu Dhabi’s goal of fostering a community that values wellness, active lifestyles, and togetherness.

Adventure And Wellness Together

Citymoov is a pioneering initiative that turns exercise into an adventure. With interactive quests, creative competitions, and rewards, it inspires Abu Dhabi residents to stay active, explore their city, and enjoy healthy living. By blending technology, play, and fitness, Citymoov not only improves public health but also strengthens community bonds, making wellness a shared and enjoyable journey for all.
