The romantic-comedy 'De De Pyaar De 2' starring Ajay Devgn and Rakul Preet Singh, released on November 14, is demonstrating robust box office performance. Directed by Anshul Sharma, the film is edging closer to the ₹50-crore milestone.
As per preliminary industry reports, the film earned ₹3.50 crore on Day 6 (November 19), bringing its cumulative earnings to ₹47.75 crore. The occupancy rate on its first Wednesday was recorded at an overall 8.84 percent. Evening and night shows reported the highest attendance rates, with 12.37 percent and 8.76 percent respectively. Afternoon screenings had an occupancy of 8.05 percent, while morning shows attracted a mere 6.19 percent.
The ensemble cast includes R Madhavan, along with Ishita Dutta, Meezaan Jaffrey, Javed Jaffrey, and Gautami Kapoor. The film features music composed by notable artists such as Yo Yo Honey Singh, Jaani, and others, with lyrics penned by Kumaar, Karan Aujla, and Honey Singh.
R Madhavan reflected on his collaboration with Ajay Devgn, emphasizing the absence of rivalry on set. He noted that Ajay’s commitment to storytelling fosters a positive collaborative environment. Madhavan appreciated Ajay’s calm demeanor, which made the filming process comfortable and boosted the cast’s confidence.
Due to its solid performance during weekdays, 'De De Pyaar De 2' is poised to cross the ₹50-crore mark imminently. The film's success during the upcoming weekend will play a crucial role in determining its continued performance in the next week.
