Dharmendra, 89, Recovering Well Amid Health Speculations

Post by : Meena Hassan

In the face of swirling health rumors, renowned Bollywood star Dharmendra, now 89, is reported to be recovering well as per updates from his family and management team. This news comes after misleading reports about his demise spread across social media, causing distress among his fans and the film community.

On Tuesday, a formal statement from Sunny Deol, Dharmendra's son, emphasized that the beloved actor is “recovering and responding to treatment.” The family urged the public to keep him in their prayers for good health and longevity. This announcement marks the third official communication from the family intended to clarify misinformation.

Previously, Esha Deol, Dharmendra's daughter, confirmed via Instagram that her father is “stable and recovering,” while his wife, Hema Malini, publicly criticized the baseless rumors regarding Dharmendra’s health. She reiterated on her social media that he is “responding to treatment and recovering,” labeling the speculation as “false news.”

Requesting privacy, the family has asked the public to refrain from spreading unverified information. On Monday evening, Sunny Deol urged fans and media to avoid engaging in speculation, stating that updates will be shared exclusively when available, stressing the importance of respecting their private matters.

Dharmendra has been receiving care at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai since late October, with the initial report of his hospitalization surfacing on October 31. The legendary actor, known for his iconic performances in films like Sholay, Phool Aur Patthar, Satyakam, and Dharam Veer, is set to celebrate his 90th birthday on December 8.

On Tuesday morning, both Sunny Deol and Hema Malini were seen visiting Dharmendra at the hospital. The previous night, several prominent film personalities, including Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, and Govinda, paid their respects, showing support for the veteran actor.

Fans can look forward to watching Dharmendra in the upcoming war drama Ikkis, which is slated for release on December 25. Despite the recent health concerns, the actor’s illustrious legacy continues to motivate generations of cinema enthusiasts.
