DP World has expanded its road freight operations across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) by acquiring 700 new trucks. The investment is aimed at increasing transport capacity and improving cargo movement across the region, giving customers greater reliability, efficiency and certainty when shipping goods.
The move is part of the company's long-term strategy to build a fully integrated logistics network that links ports, terminals, economic zones and digital platforms. Through this network, DP World aims to provide complete end-to-end supply chain solutions for businesses operating across the GCC.
The newly acquired fleet will support up to 35,000 truck trips each month. It will serve both domestic transportation and cross-border freight services for DP World's customers throughout the GCC.
The trucks will handle first-mile, middle-mile and last-mile logistics while transporting both containerised and non-containerised cargo. This expansion is expected to improve the speed and flexibility of land freight services across the region.
Ahmad Yousef Al-Hassan, CEO and Managing Director of DP World GCC, said the investment reflects the company's long-term commitment to strengthening its multimodal logistics network.
He said the company is expanding its capabilities as demand for logistics services continues to grow across the GCC, allowing customers to benefit from an integrated transport network that supports every stage of the supply chain.
Raveen Guliani, COO – Logistics, DP World GCC, said customers are looking for dependable, efficient and more sustainable supply chain solutions.
He added that the company's connected network of ports and warehouses enables the movement of goods, containers, vehicles and perishable products across the region. The newly added trucks are fuel-efficient and comply with Euro V emissions standards. DP World also plans to explore green-energy vehicles in the future.

The deployment of the new trucks is taking place in phases across DP World's logistics operations. The additional vehicles complement the company's existing road transport network, which currently manages around 3,000 truck movements every day throughout the GCC.
In recent months, DP World has introduced several initiatives to improve regional cargo movement. These include fast-track bonded corridors linking east coast gateways directly to Jebel Ali Port, the launch of a bonded corridor connecting Sohar in Oman, and the use of Red Sea transport routes through Jeddah Islamic Port's South Container Terminal.
These logistics solutions have enabled the company to move more than 350,000 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) overland following disruptions to maritime shipping routes.
With the addition of 700 new trucks, DP World is strengthening its road freight capabilities across the GCC. The larger fleet will provide customers with faster, more flexible land transportation services while enhancing port-to-door deliveries and time-sensitive cargo movements. The investment also reinforces the resilience of regional logistics and supply chain operations.
