Dubai Chamber Mission Boosts Dubai–Cambodia Business Links

Dubai Chamber Mission Boosts Dubai–Cambodia Business Links

Post by : Mariam Al-Faris

The Dubai Chamber of Commerce completed its latest trade mission to Malaysia and Cambodia, marking another step in expanding business connections in Asia. As part of this mission, the chamber organised 189 business-to-business meetings in Phnom Penh, creating new chances for companies from Dubai and Cambodia to explore cooperation across many industries. These meetings helped both sides understand each other’s needs and identify areas where trade and investment can grow.

A key event during the visit was the “Doing Business with Cambodia” forum, which the Dubai Chamber held in partnership with the UAE Embassy in Thailand, Cambodia’s Ministry of Commerce, the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce, and the Council for the Development of Cambodia. The forum brought together important government and business leaders from both nations.

Speakers at the forum included Tekreth Kamrang, Secretary of State at Cambodia’s Ministry of Commerce, and Neak Oknha Kith Meng, President of the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce. Salem AlShamsi, the Executive Vice President of International Relations at Dubai Chambers, also delivered remarks, along with Suon Sophal from the Cambodia Investment Board, who presented insights into Cambodia’s economic growth and development plans.

More than 357 business leaders, company representatives, and officials attended the forum. Their participation showed a strong interest in understanding the opportunities available in both Dubai and Cambodia. Many attendees focused on learning how Dubai companies can build partnerships in Cambodia and how Cambodian businesses can enter Dubai’s regional markets through its advanced infrastructure.

During the event, the Dubai Chamber of Commerce gave a detailed presentation about Dubai’s business environment. The presentation explained why Dubai is a global hub for trade and investment. It also highlighted the emirate’s strengths, such as its strong logistics network, business-friendly policies, and access to markets in the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia. These advantages make Dubai an attractive gateway for Cambodian companies seeking growth beyond their borders.

The Council for the Development of Cambodia shared an overview of the country’s growing economy. The presentation covered Cambodia’s business laws, development strategies, and investment landscape. It also introduced Cambodian sectors that are ready for foreign investment, encouraging Dubai businesses to explore long-term opportunities in the country.
Cambodia’s improving infrastructure and growing industries make it a promising destination for companies looking for new areas to expand.

Dubai Chamber outlined several high-potential sectors for future trade and cooperation between Dubai and Cambodia. These sectors include aluminium, iron and steel, beverages, furniture, mattresses, and aircraft parts.
Additionally, Dubai-based companies were encouraged to explore investment opportunities in Cambodia’s tourism, transportation, textiles, consumer products, warehousing, construction, and infrastructure projects.

Salem AlShamsi emphasised that the chamber is committed to helping Dubai companies grow globally by supporting them in priority markets. He noted that missions like this strengthen Dubai’s position as a leading global business hub and help create new investment paths that benefit both countries.
He added that Dubai’s goal is not only to increase trade numbers but also to create sustainable and long-lasting business partnerships.
