Post by : Mariam Al-Faris

The Dubai Premier Padel P1 concluded yesterday at the Hamdan Sports Complex, marking a significant moment in the international padel calendar. With packed crowds and world-class athletes, this tournament raised the bar for sporting events in the UAE and underscored Dubai’s goal to become a premier global sports destination.

After an action-packed week, Agustín Tapia and Arturo Coello emerged as the men’s champions, while Claudia Fernandez and Bia Gonzalez took home the women’s title. The finals showcased intense competition, thrilling the packed audience at Hamdan Sports Complex. For her exceptional performance, Bia Gonzalez received the Oysho MVP Award, while Agustín Tapia was designated the DAMAC MVP for his stellar contributions.

His Highness Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council, graced the event and awarded the trophies to the winning teams. Sheikh Saeed bin Maktoum Juma Al Maktoum, President of the UAE Padel Association, also attended, celebrating the event’s success with athletes, officials, and fans.

Held under the patronage of Sheikh Mansoor, the tournament was organized by Gallop Global in collaboration with Dubai Sports Council, the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET), and the UAE Padel Association (UAEPA). It has steadily morphed into a prestigious international sporting event, attracting elite players from around the Premier Padel circuit.

This year, the Hamdan Sports Complex underwent significant renovations to accommodate the tournament, transforming its 10-lane Olympic swimming pool into a premier padel arena, capable of hosting 8,000 spectators and becoming the MENA region's largest indoor padel venue. The new setup featured four professional-grade courts, enhancing the experience for fans and media alike. This transformation highlights Dubai’s ability to adapt existing infrastructure for high-level sporting events.

Ivan Modia, CEO of Gallop Global and Tournament Director of Dubai Premier Padel P1, stated, “The Dubai Premier Padel P1 has reached new heights this year. The energetic crowds and electrifying atmosphere demonstrate Dubai's rapid ascent as a global hub for world-class sporting and entertainment events. The conversion of Hamdan Sports Complex into the largest indoor padel stadium in MENA exemplifies what can be accomplished when ambition meets innovation. This tournament has set a new standard for the sport, and we are proud to contribute to padel’s growth in the UAE and globally.”

The tournament brought together elite international talent, showcasing padel’s increasing popularity worldwide and enhancing Dubai’s image as a prime sports destination. Spectators were treated to exhilarating matches, remarkable athleticism, and an unparalleled atmosphere throughout the week.

Given the success of this year, the Dubai Premier Padel P1 is set to return in 2026, continuing to serve as a flagship event in the Middle East and a vital stop on the Premier Padel global tour, thereby promoting the sport and reinforcing Dubai's status as a world-class sporting city.
