Dubai Ruler Honours Retired Police Officers for Key Role in Safety

Post by : Mariam Al-Faris

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who is the Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and also the Ruler of Dubai, met with several retired senior police officers. These officers had served the Dubai Police for many years and helped build the foundation of safety and stability in the city.

The meeting took place at Al Mudaif Majlis in Union House, an important and symbolic place in Dubai’s history. The atmosphere was filled with respect and gratitude as the leader spoke to the retired officers, acknowledging their great efforts over the years.

Honouring the Foundations of Dubai’s Security

During the meeting, Sheikh Mohammed shared how important the retired officers’ work has been in shaping the security system in Dubai. He said that because of their strong commitment and professional service, Dubai has become a model for safety and order that is now admired in the region and even in other parts of the world.

The work done by these officers many years ago is still helping Dubai stay safe today. Their efforts have created a police system that other cities look up to and want to learn from.

Appreciation for Loyal Service

Sheikh Mohammed showed his deep appreciation for the officers. He said that although these men are now retired, they are still very important to Dubai. He called them part of the reason the city has grown and become what it is today. He thanked them for serving with honesty, strength, and care for the community.

The Ruler of Dubai made it clear that people who served in security roles should always be remembered. He said that honouring such people is not only a personal duty but something that the whole country and future generations must remember and value.

Dubai’s Success Built on Dedication

The retired officers played a major role in helping Dubai become a successful and safe city. Sheikh Mohammed said their work has made a lasting impact on the city's growth. He noted that their strong discipline, smart decisions, and teamwork helped shape Dubai’s police system into one of the best.

Thanks to their efforts, Dubai is known today as a place where residents and visitors feel safe. This reputation for safety is one reason why so many people choose to live, work, or travel in Dubai.

Attendance of Notable Dubai Police Leaders

The meeting was attended by several well-known figures in the Dubai Police, who have also served with distinction. These included Major General Khalil Al Mansouri, Major General Abdul Quddus Abdul Razzaq Al Obaidli, Major General Abdullah Al Ghaithi, Major General Ali Atiq, Major General Ali Ghanem, and Major General Jamal Al Jallaf.

These respected names have been a big part of Dubai’s security journey. Their presence at the meeting made the event more special, showing the strong bond between current and former members of the police force.

Retired Officers Thank the Ruler

The retired officers who attended the meeting were deeply touched by Sheikh Mohammed’s kind words and gesture of appreciation. They expressed their heartfelt thanks and said it was a great honour to have served the nation.

They mentioned that their success in their work would not have been possible without the constant support of the UAE’s leadership. The officers said they were proud to be part of the country’s growth and happy that their work has helped make the lives of people in Dubai safer and better.

Lasting Value of National Service

One of the strongest messages from the meeting was that serving the country is always a source of pride. Sheikh Mohammed reminded everyone that the work done by police officers may not always be seen every day, but it is felt in the safety and peace that people enjoy.

He explained that safety is one of the main reasons why Dubai has become a top global city. The good work of the police is like a foundation—without it, the city cannot stand strong. The retired officers were thanked not only for the past but also for the strong base they helped build for the future.

A Model of Respect and Unity

The meeting also showed how much the UAE values its people, especially those who have given their time and energy for the good of society. Sheikh Mohammed’s kind words reflected the culture of the country, where leaders respect their citizens and those who serve the nation.

This respect is not just shown in words, but also in real actions—like organising such special meetings and keeping in touch with those who served in the past. The retired officers left the gathering feeling respected, remembered, and proud of their contributions.

Inspiring Future Generations

By honouring retired officers in such a respectful way, the leadership of Dubai is also sending a message to younger generations. It shows that hard work, loyalty, and service are always noticed and appreciated in the UAE.

This helps inspire young people to serve the nation with the same kind of commitment. They can look up to the example set by these retired officers and feel encouraged to follow in their footsteps, whether in the police force or other areas of public service.

A Nation That Remembers Its Heroes

In the end, the meeting between Sheikh Mohammed and the retired police officers was more than just a formal visit. It was a strong message that the UAE never forgets those who serve the country with honour.

The event reminded everyone that while times change and people retire, the value of good service never fades. The leaders of the country are committed to making sure those who built the nation’s strength are always remembered and respected.

This thoughtful meeting not only showed appreciation for the past but also built a bridge between the past, present, and future of Dubai’s proud journey toward peace, safety, and unity.
