UAE to Host Red Bull Half Court 2025 Finals in Dubai

Post by : Mariam Al-Faris

For the first time, the United Arab Emirates will host the Red Bull Half Court 2025 Finals, the world’s most exciting 3-on-3 basketball tournament. The event will take place in Dubai on November 29, marking a historic moment for the country’s growing sports scene. Known for blending creativity and competition, the Red Bull Half Court brings together the best street basketball players from around the world for two thrilling days of games and entertainment.

The event is being organised in collaboration with the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET), Dubai Sports Council, Creators HQ, and Jumeirah Emirates Towers Hotel. This joint effort highlights Dubai’s growing role as a global sports hub. The first day of the tournament will take place in the outdoor area near the Museum of the Future, and the second day will continue at the Jumeirah Emirates Towers Plaza. Together, these iconic locations will offer a lively and engaging atmosphere for fans and players.

The announcement was made during a press conference hosted by Creators HQ and organised by Red Bull in partnership with DET and Dubai Sports Council. Several key figures attended, including Aida Al Busaidy, Associate Vice President of Consumer Advocacy at DET; Eisa Sharif Al Marzooqi, Director of the Sports Events Department at Dubai Sports Council; Dr. Mohammad AlGhfeli, Managing Director of Creators HQ; and Dusan Bulut, Red Bull’s Serbian professional basketball player and former world No.1 in men’s individual 3x3 basketball rankings by FIBA.

The Red Bull Half Court tournament follows official FIBA 3x3 rules. Each team consists of three starting players and one substitute. Matches last for ten minutes or end when a team scores 21 points. This quick, action-packed format makes the tournament one of the most exciting forms of basketball in the world. Qualifiers have been held across several countries, allowing only the top-performing teams to earn a spot in the Dubai finals.

The Dubai finals will feature champions from 20 men’s teams and 15 women’s teams, representing countries such as Japan, the USA, Nigeria, Lebanon, the Maldives, South Africa, Türkiye, and the host nation, the UAE. The tournament’s global reach highlights basketball’s universal appeal and the growing influence of the sport across different cultures and regions.

The Red Bull Half Court 2025 trophy has been specially designed to reflect Dubai’s unique spirit, blending tradition with modernity. It combines contemporary art with Emirati heritage elements, symbolising creativity, unity, and global connection. The design mirrors Dubai’s vision of being a world leader in innovation and culture.

Aida Al Busaidy expressed her excitement about hosting the finals in Dubai, saying, “Hosting the Red Bull Half Court World Final is an exciting opportunity to bring together players and fans from around the world. Dubai offers a dynamic stage where action meets innovation.” She also noted that the event will coincide with the Dubai Fitness Challenge, a citywide initiative promoting health and wellness among residents and visitors.

Eisa Sharif Al Marzooqi added, “We are delighted to host this global event in Dubai, a city that embodies innovation and connectivity. The Red Bull Half Court World Final reflects our vision of positioning Dubai as a global hub for sports and culture.”

The Red Bull Half Court tournament continues the legacy of earlier Red Bull basketball events such as the Red Bull King of the Rock (2010–2015) and Red Bull Reign (2014–2019). Since its global launch in 2021, it has grown into one of the premier platforms for 3-on-3 basketball. Past finals have been held in Rome, Cairo, Belgrade, and New York City, drawing over 15,000 players and thousands of fans worldwide.

Hosting the Red Bull Half Court 2025 Finals further establishes Dubai’s position as a key destination for international sports. The city continues to attract world-class tournaments and events that promote both athletic excellence and cultural exchange. The event not only highlights Dubai’s strong sports infrastructure but also its commitment to inspiring young athletes and bringing the global sports community together.
