After an incredible nine months of racing, UAE Team Emirates-XRG has wrapped up a historic year marked by 94 victories — the team’s highest-ever tally. As the 2025 cycling season reaches its final stretch, the No.1-ranked UCI WorldTeam has announced its squads for the last races of the year, set to take place across Italy, China, and France.
Final Races Across Three Nations
The Emirati squad will compete in its last set of races this week, with events including the Tour of Guangxi in China, Giro del Veneto in Italy, and Chrono des Nations and Veneto Classic in France. These final challenges will officially close the team’s successful 2025 season. The team confirmed its seven-man squad for the Tour of Guangxi, the final WorldTour stage race of the year, on Monday.
Focus on the Giro del Veneto
The Giro del Veneto marks one of the final Italian races before the season concludes. This historic race, first held in 1922, celebrates its 88th edition this year. It has been a special event for UAE Team Emirates-XRG, which previously won the race in 2022 with rider Matteo Trentin. The team now aims to repeat that success as it lines up for this year’s edition.
Star Riders Lead the Charge
The 2025 Giro del Veneto lineup will feature some of the team’s most successful riders of the season. Mexican cyclist Isaac del Toro will lead the squad, supported by Belgian champion Florian Vermeersch, who recently claimed the World Gravel Championship title. Vermeersch finished third in last year’s Giro del Veneto and now returns with strong form and confidence following his world title win.
Rising Star Isaac del Toro’s Final Race
For Isaac del Toro, the Giro del Veneto will serve as his final race of the 2025 season — a year that solidified his place among cycling’s elite. The 21-year-old phenom earned an impressive 15 victories this year, including six in Italy over the past month alone. He also achieved a remarkable runner-up finish at the Giro d’Italia, one of cycling’s most prestigious races. His consistency and maturity have made him one of the sport’s brightest young stars.
Strong Team Line-Up for Italy
The UAE Team Emirates-XRG roster for the Giro del Veneto is a mix of experience and youthful energy. The team includes Alessandro Covi (Italy), Isaac del Toro (Mexico), António Morgado (Portugal), Pavel Sivakov (France), Pablo Torres (Spain), Florian Vermeersch (Belgium), and Tim Wellens (Belgium). Together, they form a powerful unit capable of competing on multiple terrains and stages.
The Tour of Guangxi: The Final WorldTour Race
While the Giro del Veneto runs in Italy, part of the team will also race in the Tour of Guangxi in China — the last WorldTour stage race of the year. This six-stage event is known for its scenic routes and competitive international field. It represents the last chance for riders to score valuable WorldTour points before the official season end.
French Races Conclude the Season
After Italy and China, the team will turn its attention to France for two one-day events — Chrono des Nations and Veneto Classic. Both races are expected to feature strong fields and challenging routes, offering one final test for the Emirati squad before the off-season begins. These events will also provide opportunities for some riders to prepare for next season’s time trials and classics.
A Season of Global Success
UAE Team Emirates-XRG has enjoyed tremendous success across all major tours in 2025. From grand tours like the Giro d’Italia and Tour de France to smaller classics and stage races, the team’s consistent performance has solidified its reputation as a dominant force in world cycling. Their 94 wins include major victories from top riders and emerging stars alike, reflecting depth and talent throughout the squad.
Leadership and Vision Behind the Success
Team officials credited their achievements to a combination of hard work, innovation, and strategic planning. The team’s leadership emphasized that the 2025 season highlighted the benefits of international collaboration and investment in young riders. They also noted that the balance between experienced leaders and new talents helped sustain performance across multiple countries and terrains.
As the curtain closes on the 2025 season, UAE Team Emirates-XRG looks ahead to even greater goals in 2026. With new talent rising, experienced leaders staying strong, and continued support from sponsors and fans, the team is expected to maintain its world-leading position in the coming year. The upcoming off-season will focus on recovery, training, and preparation for another year of elite competition.
