InfraX, a part of Digital DEWA, the technology arm of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, has signed agreements with Itron and MEA-Comm to advance smart city, utility, and IoT solutions in the UAE.
The partnership with Itron, announced at GITEX Global 2025, aims to develop next-generation technologies for smart metering, energy management, and connected city platforms. Combining InfraX’s digital infrastructure with Itron’s expertise in intelligent energy and water systems will create more efficient, data-driven, and connected operations for utilities and city ecosystems.
InfraX also signed a separate agreement with UAE-based MEA-Comm, a leader in private wireless networks for industrial IoT across the Middle East and Africa. Together, InfraX and MEA-Comm will evaluate and implement interactive digital twins and edge-enabled architectures to provide near real-time capabilities in industrial and smart city applications.
The collaboration includes deploying AI-powered platforms and intelligent agents that support automation, resilience, and smarter decision-making. Both companies plan to work with global technology leaders and major enterprises to bring advanced solutions and international best practices to Dubai and the UAE.
Rashid Alahmedi, COO of InfraX, said these partnerships will deliver connected, intelligent solutions that improve efficiency, sustainability, and the customer experience, aligning with the UAE’s vision for innovation and a sustainable future.
Ayman El Shareif, Vice President of Sales for the Middle East at Itron, added, “Combining Itron’s smart city and IoT solutions with InfraX’s digital capabilities will empower utilities and cities to manage resources more efficiently and sustainably.”
Dr. Abdulhadi AbouAlmal, CEO of MEA-Comm, said, “We are proud to work with InfraX and Digital DEWA to accelerate Dubai’s Industry 4.0 journey. Our AI-based IoT networks will help build smarter cities and support the UAE’s critical infrastructure.”
Through these agreements, InfraX, Itron, and MEA-Comm aim to strengthen Dubai’s digital and sustainable infrastructure, accelerate the adoption of smart technologies, and support the UAE’s vision of a connected, efficient, and innovation-led future.
