Airlines in the UAE have extended flight suspensions and are changing their routes due to growing tensions in the Middle East, following recent US airstrikes on Iranian nuclear sites. Several countries — including Iran, Iraq, Syria, and Israel — have closed their airspace, forcing airlines to take longer but safer routes through areas like the Caspian Sea and Egypt.
Etihad Airways Update:
Etihad Airways has suspended all flights between Abu Dhabi and Tel Aviv until 15 July. Passengers who were planning to transit through Abu Dhabi to reach Tel Aviv will not be allowed to continue their journey if their connecting flight has been cancelled.
In a separate incident, Flight EY652 from Kuwait to Abu Dhabi on 22 June was cancelled due to a technical issue.
Emirates Airlines Update:
Emirates has also temporarily stopped flying to Tehran (Iran), Baghdad, and Basra (Iraq) until 30 June, in response to the current situation in the region.
