Emirates NBD, a leading banking group in the MENAT region, hosted the second edition of its Private Banking Next Generation programme. In collaboration with PwC and Visa, the initiative aims to empower the next generation of business leaders to manage and grow their family legacies effectively.
Supporting UAE’s Ultra-Wealthy Community
The programme comes as the UAE experiences a surge in ultra-high-net-worth individuals, reinforcing its position as a global hub for investors and talent. World-class infrastructure, investor-friendly regulations, and premium real estate continue to attract private capital, making wealth management and succession planning increasingly crucial.
Focus on Intergenerational Wealth Transfer
With intergenerational wealth transfers in the Middle East expected to exceed USD 1 trillion by 2030, Emirates NBD recognizes the need to provide guidance on complex issues such as family governance, diversified assets, and legal frameworks. The programme is designed to equip successors with knowledge and tools to lead their family enterprises successfully.
Programme Highlights and Curriculum
The second edition, titled ‘From Legacy to Leadership,’ included presentations and workshops on essential topics like governance in family businesses, board responsibilities, entrepreneurship, and the role of generative AI (GenAI) in business. Participants gained insights from global experts to strengthen their leadership and strategic planning skills.
Leadership Insights from Emirates NBD
Mohammad Al Bastaki, Group Head of Private Banking and Wealth Management at Emirates NBD, emphasized the programme’s role in supporting ultra-high-net-worth clients and their families. He noted that fostering relationships with clients while providing practical tools for successors sets a new standard in private banking, blending financial expertise with leadership development.
Collaboration with PwC and Visa
By partnering with PwC for business insights and Visa for lifestyle excellence, Emirates NBD ensures that participants receive a holistic experience. This collaboration helps young leaders understand global business practices and equips them to navigate evolving economic and technological landscapes effectively.
The Next Generation programme is aligned with Emirates NBD’s broader Private Banking strategy, which focuses on safeguarding and enhancing client wealth. Through education, mentorship, and exposure to international expertise, the bank reinforces its commitment to supporting future business leaders in sustaining and growing family enterprises.
Emirates NBD’s initiative reflects its dedication to nurturing the next generation of leaders, providing them with insights, connections, and strategies to carry forward family legacies with vision and purpose. The programme strengthens the UAE’s position as a hub for wealth management excellence and private banking leadership.
