Must-Try Bridal Jewellery Trends for 2025

Post by : Meena Hassan

As the wedding season draws near, brides are eager to present their best selves—elegant, radiant, and unforgettable. The perfect way to accomplish this is through exquisite jewellery. This year's bridal aesthetics incorporate both traditional elements and contemporary styles. Bindu Sharma, Founder and Creative Director of Mavitrra, outlines the must-see bridal jewellery trends for 2025 that every bride should embrace.

Polki and Kundan pieces remain at the forefront for those brides seeking a touch of royal charm. These vintage-inspired designs feature uncut diamonds set in gold, boasting a luxurious and timeless allure that harkens back to Rajasthan's heritage. Hefty Polki chokers layered with necklaces and eye-catching jhumkas create a distinctly regal appearance, showcasing the unique raw luster of each Polki piece, making them eternally fashionable.

Statement chokers are making a strong comeback, perfect for accentuating the neckline and drawing focus upwards, enhancing both bold Polki and sleek diamond adornments. When paired with long layered necklaces, these chokers render a balanced yet striking effect. Incorporating vibrant stones such as emeralds or rubies elevates the visual appeal, crafting an ensemble that is both sophisticated and captivating.

Conversely, some brides lean toward more understated aesthetics. Minimalism dominates the preferences of modern brides seeking elegance without excessive flair. Gracing pre-wedding festivities like mehendi, haldi, or cocktail parties, delicate diamond chains, slender bangles, and subtle earrings provide a refined touch, adding grace without overshadowing an outfit.

Among South Indian brides, temple jewellery has surged in popularity. Characterized by intricate designs inspired by divine figures, this style delivers a cultural touch to bridal attire. Typically fashioned from gold and often adorned with rubies or emeralds, temple jewellery complements silk sarees exquisitely and celebrates heritage beautifully.

Layering jewellery is a cherished trend. Brides are artfully combining multiple necklaces of differing lengths and styles to forge a cohesive yet grand effect. Blending gold, diamonds, pearls, or Polki creates individuality while retaining traditional elegance.

This season, colorful gemstones are gaining significant traction alongside traditional gold and diamonds. Vibrant emeralds, sapphires, and rubies add bright accents to bridal outfits and are typically chosen to harmonize with outfits. Beyond being aesthetically pleasing, these gemstones are thought to bring positive energy and prosperity, enriching a bride's overall look.

A revival of vintage jewellery is underway, drawing inspiration from cherished family pieces or nostalgic designs. Antique gold items, Victorian diamond sets, and classic pearl necklaces, whether treasured heirlooms or newly crafted, instill sentimental value and timeless allure.

Headpieces have become vital accessories for brides. Maang tikkas and matha pattis, whether simple or intricately designed, elegantly frame the face, maintaining a traditional essence. Brides are also exploring asymmetrical styles, layered chains, and pearl details for a modern take on these classic pieces.

Bold earrings are now the stars of the show, particularly for lighter events. Oversized chandbalis, jhumkas, and detailed danglers are preferred over substantial necklaces, allowing these statement pieces to shine on their own. Some brides even forgo necklaces completely to let their earrings take the stage.

From regal Polki ensembles and striking chokers to delicate minimalist designs and temple jewellery, the bridal jewellery trends of 2025 embrace personal style while respecting timeless traditions. Whether your taste leans toward extravagance or simplicity, there's a style for every bride to feel radiant and unforgettable on her special day.
