Gabrielle Henry, the Miss Jamaica 2024, is still hospitalized three days after experiencing a serious fall during the evening gown segment of the Miss Universe preliminaries in Thailand. This incident transpired on November 19, when the 28-year-old contestant lost her footing in high heels and fell off the stage clad in a dazzling orange gown. She was promptly taken to Paolo Rangsit Hospital, where medical professionals carried out scans and evaluations to understand the severity of her injuries.
Initial medical reports indicated that while she had escaped life-threatening injuries and fractures, her condition required continuous monitoring due to the incident's aftermath. Consequently, Henry was unable to take part in the Miss Universe Pageant the next day, on November 20.
The Miss Universe Jamaica Organization later announced that her mother, Maureen, along with her sister, Dr. Phylicia Henry-Samuels, had come to Thailand to provide support. Dr. Henry-Samuels expressed concern over Gabrielle’s health, stating, “Gabby isn’t doing as well as we would have hoped, but the hospital continues to treat her accordingly.” Medical staff have advised that she remain in intensive care for at least another week to ensure specialized and consistent care.
The organization urged the community to keep Gabrielle in their thoughts and prayers, stressing the importance of compassion and responsible online engagement. They asked social media users to refrain from sharing negative comments or unverified facts that could add to the distress of her family. Their statement emphasized that the priority is focused on her recovery and health.
Messages of encouragement have been flooding in from fans, fellow contestants, and members of the worldwide pageant community. Officials who have visited Henry have confirmed that she is receiving attentive medical care. She remains in the ICU as health professionals work to stabilize her condition, with further updates anticipated as her situation improves.
