Gaurav Khanna has officially won Bigg Boss 19, securing the illustrious trophy and a cash prize of ₹50 lakh, adding to his previous triumphs in reality TV, including Celebrity MasterChef India.
Throughout his journey on the show, Gaurav faced skepticism for adopting a “safe” approach, remaining largely on the “backfoot.” Some viewers perceived his style as merely “observational,” rather than engaging, and a minority suggested he was a “fixed” contestant due to his dedicated fan base.
In response to these accusations, Gaurav stated, “These are personal opinions. Not everyone needs to appreciate me, and that’s perfectly fine. I’m just glad that many do.”
Countering assertions of inauthenticity, he described his genuine approach: “If I were fake, I would have donned designer clothes, applied makeup, and stirred up drama. Instead, I chose to exercise in slippers, eat rice with my hands, and stay true to my daily habits.”
He also emphasized that he did not invest in obtaining votes, saying, “I think sincere connections with people resonate. If even one mother, brother, child, or elderly person appreciated me, it was sufficient for their support.”
While contestants like Tanya Mittal and Amaal Mallik captured media attention in the past months, Gaurav established a positive, controversy-free persona, which ultimately won him the audience’s admiration.
Farrhana Bhatt and Pranit More concluded the competition as first and second runners-up, respectively, marking the end of a season enriched with intrigue, strategy, and audience interaction.
