Georgia delivered a strong performance to defeat Florida State 107-73 in the ACC-SEC Challenge on Tuesday night in Tallahassee, Florida. The Bulldogs were led by Jeremiah Wilkinson, who scored 22 points and helped Georgia build a commanding lead throughout the game. Wilkinson shot 7-of-13 from the floor and made four of Georgia’s 11 three-pointers. His teammate Blue Cain contributed 17 points, seven rebounds, and five assists, while Kanon Catchings added 17 points and six rebounds. With this win, Georgia improved its record to 8-1 on the season.
The Bulldogs have been impressive offensively, entering the game with a nation-leading average of 99 points per game. Tuesday marked their second consecutive 100-point game and the fourth of the season. Georgia shot 57.1% from the floor and dominated inside the paint, outscoring the Seminoles 56-38. They were especially effective on two-point shots, making 29 of 40 attempts, which helped maintain a strong lead throughout the game.
Florida State, struggling defensively, was unable to contain Georgia’s offense. Robert McCray V led the Seminoles with 18 points and five rebounds, while Chauncey Wiggins contributed 15 points. Florida State has now lost two consecutive games by more than 30 points against SEC opponents. The Seminoles started the game poorly, shooting only 1-of-11 from three-point range and 3-of-23 from the field in the early minutes.
Despite Florida State’s brief 8-0 run, Georgia responded strongly, finishing the first half on a 26-12 run. Wilkinson scored nine points in this period, helping Georgia build a 49-30 lead at halftime. Early in the second half, Georgia extended its advantage with a 13-0 run, increasing the lead to 83-44 with more than ten minutes remaining. Florida State made small attempts to recover with a 9-0 and later a 17-5 run, cutting the margin slightly, but Georgia quickly regained control and finished the game strongly.
This victory showcased Georgia’s teamwork, offensive efficiency, and depth. The Bulldogs’ fast-paced style, sharp shooting, and dominance in the paint proved too much for Florida State. Players like Wilkinson, Cain, and Catchings demonstrated their scoring and rebounding abilities, giving Georgia a clear edge on both ends of the court.
With this win, Georgia matched its season total from last year and reinforced its position as one of the top-performing teams in the ACC-SEC Challenge. Their ability to score over 100 points in consecutive games reflects their offensive talent and strong coaching strategies. Meanwhile, Florida State will need to improve its shooting and defense to compete effectively in upcoming games.
The Bulldogs’ performance highlights their offensive power, strong team coordination, and ability to control games, making them a team to watch this season. Georgia now looks ahead to its next challenge, aiming to maintain its winning momentum and continue dominating on both offense and defense.
