World Governments Summit Signs Partnership with ACS

Post by : Mariam Al-Faris

The World Governments Summit Organisation (WGS) has signed a strategic Partnership Agreement with the Association of Caribbean States (ACS) during the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York. This agreement marks a significant step in promoting global collaboration and fostering stronger ties between Latin American and Caribbean nations and the Summit platform.

Expanding Regional Representation

The agreement aims to increase the presence of Latin American and Caribbean governments at the World Governments Summit. It enables these nations to showcase their governmental experiences, best practices, and innovative initiatives to a global audience. The partnership also encourages joint projects that create opportunities for sustainable growth and future-ready governance.

Focus on Sustainable Development

A key aspect of the partnership is advancing sustainable development initiatives. Both WGS and ACS will collaborate to exchange knowledge, highlight successful government practices, and promote policies that support social, economic, and environmental progress. The agreement reinforces the commitment to inclusive global dialogue and cooperation.

Signatories and Statements

The Partnership Agreement was signed by Mohamed Yousef Al Sharhan, Managing Director of the World Governments Summit, and Ambassador Noemí Espinoza Madrid, Secretary-General of the Association of Caribbean States. Al Sharhan stated that the collaboration represents a “significant step forward in the Summit’s mission to foster international cooperation and global partnerships,” while Madrid called the agreement a “historic milestone for the Greater Caribbean,” emphasizing its potential to strengthen regional bonds.

Joint Initiatives and Opportunities

The agreement lays the foundation for joint initiatives addressing emerging opportunities and challenges. Both parties will prioritize innovation, knowledge sharing, and collaboration in high-level meetings, including the 10th ACS International Cooperation Conference in Dubai. These efforts aim to develop practical solutions that enhance governance, economic growth, and social development in both regions.

Role of the World Governments Summit

The World Governments Summit serves as a global platform for anticipating the future of governments worldwide. It focuses on leveraging innovation and technology to create solutions for complex global challenges. By bringing together policymakers, experts, and entrepreneurs, the Summit encourages the exchange of knowledge and promotes strategies that improve the quality of life for societies worldwide.

Advancing Global Dialogue and Innovation

Through this partnership, WGS and ACS reaffirm their dedication to supporting inclusive international dialogue. They aim to amplify regional voices on global platforms, strengthen multilateral cooperation, and encourage forward-looking solutions. The collaboration ensures that Latin America and the Caribbean are active contributors to discussions on sustainable development, innovation, and governance.

The partnership sets the stage for continued collaboration between WGS and ACS, creating opportunities for governments to share expertise, address emerging global issues, and implement future-focused initiatives. By combining regional experiences with global insights, the agreement aims to drive innovation, promote human development, and inspire governments worldwide to adopt sustainable and creative solutions.

This collaboration represents a landmark in international partnerships, fostering stronger connections, mutual learning, and innovation between the Caribbean, Latin America, and the global community.
