Iraq has announced a 72-hour extension of its airspace closure, restricting all incoming, outgoing, and transit flights as a precautionary step.
According to a statement reported by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), the Iraqi Civil Aviation Authority (ICAA) confirmed that the closure will remain in effect from 12:00 pm local time (09:00 GMT) on Sunday until 12:00 pm on Wednesday.
The authority described the move as a temporary measure taken in response to ongoing security concerns and the changing regional situation. Officials said the decision was made after continuous assessment of the current conditions.
The statement also noted that the restriction will be reviewed based on further developments in the region, indicating that authorities are closely monitoring the situation before making any further decisions.
