The well-known K-pop girl group remains on pause as a legal conflict with their management label drags on. This dispute has garnered significant attention in South Korea, where entertainment companies wield considerable power over their artists.
Earlier today, the label revealed that two members — Haerin and Hyein — are gearing up for a return to the K-pop industry. However, it stopped short of confirming the participation of the remaining three members in future activities.
“We are currently assessing whether the three members wish to rejoin,” the agency stated in an email.
This legal turmoil began earlier this year when the group initiated legal action against the label, citing mistreatment and requesting the termination of their contracts. In March, a South Korean court granted an injunction that prevented the group from taking on independent ventures while the lawsuit is ongoing.
The ruling permitted the label to retain complete management control over the group and barred the five members from engaging in any commercial or promotional endeavors without the label’s approval.
As the legal battle progresses, fans are left wondering about the group’s future and whether all members will reunite under the same management.
