Post by : Meena Hassan

Kalyani Priyadarshan, the star of Lokah: Chapter 1 – Chandra, has praised her friend Dulquer Salmaan for his stunning performance in his new film, Kaantha. In a heartfelt review posted on social media, she declared it her top performance by Dulquer thus far.

Kalyani mentioned that she attended the film with minimal expectations and left profoundly touched. “This might always be my favourite @dqsalmaan performance… Went in knowing almost nothing and came out moved. I get extra excited when Dulquer speaks Tamil on the big screen,” she expressed.

She also recognized the talents of co-stars Samuthirakani, Bhagyashri Borse, and Rana Daggubati. “@thondankani sir, I thought I would only be cheering for DQ’s lines but I was cheering for yours too! @bhagyashriborse…my eyes go straight to you on screen no matter who else is there. And @ranadaggubati, always love watching you doing what you do best,” Kalyani commented.

Kalyani also commended director Selvaraj Selvamani and music composer Jakes Bejoy, praising the casting decisions and congratulating the entire team involved.

Directed by Selvamani and produced by Dulquer and Rana through Wayfarer Films and Spirit Media, Kaantha portrays superstar TK Mahadevan (Dulquer) dealing with ego conflicts with his earlier mentor Ayya (Samuthirakani). Bhagyashri plays the debut star Kumari, while Rana takes on the role of police inspector Phoenix. The film debuted on November 14, earning ₹4.30 crore in India and ₹10.5 crore globally.
