The sequel to Kapil Sharma’s hit comedy, ‘Kis Kis Ko Pyaar Karoon 2’, builds upon the original’s storyline while introducing a religious conflict at its core. It chronicles the life of Mohan Sharma, a Bhopal resident whose plans to marry his girlfriend, Sanya, face a setback due to family opposition stemming from religious differences. To gain acceptance, Mohan decides to convert to Islam, but chaos ensues when a misunderstanding leads him to marry Ruhi instead.
What kicks off as a single miscommunication spirals into a whirlwind of matrimonial confusion. Under familial pressure, Mohan ends up marrying Meera, and another twist sees him inadvertently marrying Jenny while still trying to find a way to be with Sanya. His tangled marital situation intensifies when law enforcement seeks him after he confides his predicament to a priest. The sequel retains the structure of its predecessor but layers in new cultural elements that fuel its humor and conflict.
Directed by Anukalp Goswami, the film maintains a lighthearted tone, featuring an opening filled with laughter. It steers clear of crude humor, instead relying on situational comedy and clever timing. However, the film falters in pace post-interval, with many jokes losing impact and certain segments dragging on longer than necessary, especially after the plot reaches its natural climax.
Kapil Sharma anchors the film with his impeccable comic timing, elevating even mundane moments into audience favorites. Manjot Singh shines as Mohan’s steadfast friend, while the late Asrani brings back nostalgic charm with his comedic prowess. Akhilendra Mishra and Vipin Sharma deliver strong performances as the clashing parental figures, and Tridha Choudhary, Ayesha Khan, and Parul Gulati compellingly portray Mohan’s unintentional wives.
The film’s music, however, serves as its weakest element, with several songs interrupting the narrative flow rather than complementing it. Nevertheless, its captivating cast and family-friendly humor keep audiences engaged.
Overall, ‘Kis Kis Ko Pyaar Karoon 2’ shines when it focuses on clean comedy and Kapil Sharma’s unique timing. While it may lack some sharpness in writing, it stands out as a delightful, light entertainer suitable for families.
