The earthquake's epicenter was located approximately 87 kilometers northwest of Karachi at a shallow depth of about 12 kilometers. Due to this shallow depth, the tremor was perceptible across various parts of the city, coastal areas, and nearby towns, illustrating its extensive reach.

This seismic event holds significant importance as Karachi is the largest city in Pakistan and a pivotal financial, trade, and port hub.
