At the sixth Islamic Solidarity Games in Riyadh 2025, Saudi fencer Khalifa Al-Amiri reached an impressive milestone by earning a bronze medal in Épée. His journey to the medal was marked by skill, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to representing Saudi Arabia on an international platform.
Al-Amiri's path started strong with decisive victories leading him to the semi-finals. In the Round of 32, he faced Kuwait's Abdulrahman Al-Manea and won decisively with a score of 15-5, showcasing exceptional technique and strategy. He then continued his success against Türkiye’s Doruk Erolçevik, winning 15-9, and advanced from a nail-biting quarter-final match against Uzbekistan's Yerlik Sertay, which he won by 15-14.
In the semi-finals, Al-Amiri took on Meyirkhan Timurov from Uzbekistan, a strong contender who ultimately clinched the gold. Despite a commendable effort, Al-Amiri fell short with a score of 13-15. This match emphasized the competitive nature of the Islamic Solidarity Games and the level of dedication needed to excel.
