Khalifa University of Science and Technology has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) to work together in scientific, academic, and technical areas.

The agreement was signed by Dr. Abdullah Ahmed Al Mandous, Director-General of NCM and the UAE’s representative to the World Meteorological Organization, and Professor Ebrahim Al Hajri, President of Khalifa University.

This partnership aims to encourage joint research, share knowledge, and build future projects that support both organizations' goals and the UAE’s national priorities.

Professor Al Hajri shared that Khalifa University is proud to be part of national efforts that mix top-level education with practical impact. By teaming up with NCM, the university hopes to increase its role in areas like climate science, polar research, and atmospheric technologies. He said this cooperation will bring both sides closer and support the UAE’s mission to be a global leader in environmental innovation and research.

Dr. Al Mandous added that working with Khalifa University highlights their shared goal of solving environmental challenges through science. By combining NCM’s experience with the university’s academic strength, they plan to create powerful research, new technology, and train skilled professionals for the country’s future sustainability.

With this MoU, both sides will work together on research projects, share expertise, offer consulting, organize events, and run training programs.

Khalifa University and NCM are already working together in key areas such as polar science, cloud seeding, and drone technology. University researchers have joined NCM-led workshops, and both organizations are now creating joint proposals to use drone systems in environmental and weather-related studies.
