Kiku Sharda, a long-time member of Kapil Sharma’s comedy team, recently shared insights about a significant shift in Kapil’s punctuality on set. Well-known for his character Bumper Lottery, Kiku revealed that Kapil has become extremely punctual, marking a notable change from previous behaviors.
During a podcast, Kiku emphasized that not only has Kapil been arriving on time, but the entire crew has also adhered to this new schedule. Previously, there were claims regarding Kapil’s frequent tardiness, but that narrative has altered significantly. He noted that even a fifteen-minute delay now unsettles Kapil, highlighting the production's strict timelines.
Reflecting on the past, Kiku recalled a humorous encounter where Amitabh Bachchan playfully mocked Kapil’s past delays, joking about his tendency to show up late. Kapil took the ribbing in stride, but Kiku's remarks underline the drastic changes that have taken place since those days.
Additionally, Kiku addressed swirling rumors regarding his potential departure from The Great Indian Kapil Show. This speculation arose after his participation in the reality series Rise & Fall. Isolated during the show's filming, Kiku was unaware of the chatter about him leaving.
After being evicted from the reality program, Kiku learned that such rumors had circulated widely. He firmly stated there is no basis to these claims. Having worked alongside Kapil for over 13 years, he values their professional bond immensely. Throughout the years, he has declined numerous offers to prioritize his role in the show, underscoring his commitment to both the series and his co-stars.
Kiku reassured fans of his intentions to remain part of the show for the foreseeable future. He attributed the show's success to the collaborative efforts of its comedians and performers and expressed his dedication to continually driving its success.
