The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) and the National Basketball Association (NBA) have announced that the NBA Abu Dhabi Games 2025 will be broadcast live not just in the UAE and the Middle East, but in more than 200 countries and territories around the world. Fans will be able to watch the games on TV, through digital platforms, and on social media.

These special NBA preseason games will feature two popular teams — the New York Knicks and the Philadelphia 76ers. The games are scheduled to take place on Thursday, 2nd October, and Saturday, 4th October 2025, at the Etihad Arena, located on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi. This event is part of a multi-year partnership between DCT Abu Dhabi and the NBA, which aims to bring world-class basketball to the region and promote the sport among young people and fans.

Since the collaboration began in 2022, it has introduced a wide range of basketball-related activities. These include youth development programs that have already reached nearly 20,000 young participants, interactive events for fans, and appearances by current and former NBA and WNBA stars. The partnership also supports events like an NBA 2K League exhibition and NBA Cares programs that focus on important topics such as health, wellness, and sustainability.

The New York Knicks are bringing a strong lineup to Abu Dhabi. Their team includes Jalen Brunson, a two-time NBA All-Star; Karl-Anthony Towns, a five-time All-Star; and Mikal Bridges, who was named to the NBA All-Defensive First Team in 2022. On the other hand, the Philadelphia 76ers will be led by some of the biggest names in basketball, including Joel Embiid, the 2023 NBA Most Valuable Player and a seven-time All-Star. He will be joined by Paul George, a nine-time All-Star, and Tyrese Maxey, who was named an All-Star in 2024.

Visitors in Abu Dhabi and the surrounding area are excited to see these elite athletes perform live. The NBA and DCT Abu Dhabi have also declared that the public can now purchase tickets for the NBA Abu Dhabi Games 2025. Basketball fans have a fantastic opportunity to watch elite NBA play in the United Arab Emirates.
