Mahima Chaudhry Reveals Breast Cancer Found in Routine Checkup

Post by : Meena Hassan

Mahima Chaudhry has bravely shared her experience with breast cancer, revealing that the disease was discovered during a routine health examination in 2022. She expressed that she exhibited no symptoms, discomfort, or any indication that something was amiss, making the diagnosis a total shock. It wasn’t a targeted breast cancer screening, merely a standard annual health test.

At the Young Women Breast Cancer Conference 2025, Mahima emphasized how unaware she was that cancer could develop quietly without presenting any symptoms. She highlighted that self-examination may not suffice in detecting early-stage cancer, underscoring the importance of medical screenings. Mahima encouraged everyone to engage in regular health check-ups to catch potential serious conditions early.

Discussing advancements in cancer treatment in India since her diagnosis, Mahima noted that many generic medications have become more affordable, thanks to improved support from pharmaceutical companies and increased awareness about breast cancer. Hearing the stories of other survivors provided her with strength and motivation throughout her treatment.

After her recovery, Mahima gradually resumed her professional activities. She recently starred in the film The Signature alongside Anupam Kher. Her upcoming project, Durlabh Prasad Ki Doosri Shaadi, featuring Sanjay Mishra, is set to be released later this month. Through her journey, she remains committed to her career while advocating for health awareness and the importance of early detection.
