The renowned women's doubles duo from Malaysia, Pearly Tan and M. Thinaah, have made their mark at the 2026 India Open, successfully securing a place in the semifinals. They achieved this after a commanding win against Taiwan’s Hsieh Pei Shan and Hung En Tzu in the quarterfinals held at the Indira Gandhi Sports Complex in New Delhi. The Malaysian pair, seeded second, showcased their skills and teamwork, clinching the match with scores of 21-16, 21-10 in a swift 33 minutes.
Throughout the match, Pearly and Thinaah displayed remarkable synergy and tactical awareness, leveraging powerful smashes and rapid net action to dominate their opponents. On the men's side, Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik have also progressed to the semifinals, maintaining their formidable form. Aaron and Soh will face the winner between Taiwan’s Liu Kuang Heng and Yang Po Han, or Japan's Hiroki Midorikawa and Kyohei Yamashita in the semifinals, with both prospective opponents presenting a tough challenge ahead.
