The 2025 MAMA Awards, often recognized as the "Grammys of Asia," kicked off in Hong Kong on Friday evening, marking a spectacular first night of celebration.
Day 1 showcased impressive wins for IVE and Enhypen, each securing three awards. Rose took home the coveted Song of the Year award, while BoyNextDoor was honored as Favorite Male Group. Newcomers Hearts2Hearts and Cortis were celebrated as Best New Artists, and Super Junior received recognition with the Inspiring Achievement award.
Additional accolades included Enhypen winning Fan's Choice of the Year, IVE dominating with Favorite Female Group and Favorite Global Performer, and their song Rebel Heart named Global Trend Song. Enhypen also won the Telasa Favorite Global Artist award. The Fans' Choice Award was shared among various artists including i-dle, aespa, Zerobaseone, Hearts2Hearts, Stray Kids, BabyMonster, Riize, and Enhypen.
Despite the overshadowing tragedy of a recent structure fire in Hong Kong that resulted in 128 casualties, the event proceeded as planned, shining a light on musical talent worldwide. Emerging stars including Rose, Enhypen, and IVE were among the night's standout winners.
Looking ahead to Day 2, hosted by actress Kim Hye-soo, audiences can expect unforgettable performances from G-Dragon, Aespa, Stray Kids, TXT, Riize, and various other artists.
The grand finale will see major awards like Album of the Year and Artist of the Year revealed, concluding an illustrious two-night celebration honoring Asia's foremost musical talent.
