Representing India at the Miss Universe 2025 pageant in Thailand, Manika Vishwakarma is captivating audiences with her poise, self-assurance, and articulate responses. Her choice of fashion has been turning heads, but it's her insightful answers during interviews that are resonating just as deeply.
In a unique “chain reaction question session” on November 16, she tackled the thought-provoking question that Sushmita Sen famously addressed in the Miss Universe 1994 finale: “What does it mean to be a woman?” Acknowledging Sushmita’s iconic reply, which highlighted the nurturing aspect of women, Manika commended its straightforwardness and wisdom. She recognized Sushmita’s focus on the ability of women to foster life.
Elaborating on this timeless idea, Manika shared her own modern interpretation. She articulated that while women indeed have the extraordinary capability to bring forth and nurture life, they transcend societal limitations. Manika conveyed that women possess the strength to enhance every aspect they influence, stating that the true essence of womanhood is about embracing and beautifying the world, making it flourish. She characterized womanhood as something “infinite,” a unique trait that sets women apart.
Manika also made a striking fashion statement in one of the events, adorned in an exquisite Indian outfit crafted by Rajdeep Ranawat. The ensemble featured a deep black and navy lehenga, complemented by a gold-silver mirror-work choli. She completed her look with a beautifully embroidered navy jacket embellished with floral designs and intricate mirror work, exuding both regal and modern elegance.
Through her eloquence, authenticity, and elegant presence, Manika Vishwakarma is bolstering India's representation at Miss Universe 2025. Her insightful reinterpretation of a classic beauty pageant question has impressed global audiences, showcasing her depth, cultural pride, and confidence.
