The Oklahoma State Cowboys celebrated a decisive 94-67 triumph over Prairie View A&M on Wednesday night in Stillwater. The team's exceptional collaboration and skill were on full display, led by the standout performance of Vyctorius Miller.
Miller led all scorers with an impressive 30 points, shooting 8 of 12 from the field and sinking 5 of 8 three-pointers. His sharp shooting allowed Oklahoma State to take an early lead and control the game.
Parsa Fallah provided strong support with 10 points and seven rebounds, while Kanye Clary contributed nine points, reflecting the Cowboys' balanced offensive strategy. The team's ability to distribute the ball effectively resulted in a dominant performance against Prairie View A&M.
For Prairie View A&M, Tai’Reon Joseph topped the scoring, finishing the game with 16 points. Doug Young and Marcel Bryant each added 10 points, but their efforts fell short as they struggled to compete with the high energy and finesse of Oklahoma State. The Panthers, now 2-2, faced difficulties keeping pace throughout the match.
Rebounding was crucial, with Oklahoma State claiming 54 rebounds compared to Prairie View A&M’s 31. Their domination on the offensive boards, with 19 rebounds leading to 23 second-chance points, showcased their relentless effort.
Both teams faced a slow start offensively, but a three-pointer from Miller set Oklahoma State ahead at 8-3 and helped them find rhythm. At one moment, Prairie View briefly led 15-14 after a quick break and dunk by Joseph, yet that would be their last advantage.
Following a strategic timeout for the Cowboys, they unleashed a 17-3 run that shifted the game's momentum. Christian Coleman’s putback capped off the run, pushing the scoreboard to 31-18 by the end of the half, with Oklahoma State leading 46-32.
In the second half, Oklahoma State amplified their performance with a 14-4 run, extending their lead to 60-36, highlighted by Ryan Crotty’s tip-in and Isaiah Coleman’s energetic dunk. They surged ahead to 68-36, never looking back.
Though Prairie View A&M attempted a comeback, narrowing the score to 73-49 after a 9-2 run led by Joseph’s three-pointer, Oklahoma State swiftly reestablished their dominance.
The Cowboys excelled in the paint, netting 44 points close to the basket versus Prairie View's 26. Their rapid pace, robust defense, and cohesive teamwork sustained pressure until the final buzzer sounded.
This victory marks Oklahoma State’s third consecutive win, elevating their record to 3-0. With Miller's stellar shooting and the team's commendable rebounding and defensive prowess, they seem poised for a successful season ahead. The Panthers, now sitting at 2-2, must refocus and enhance their defense and turnover management for future games.
Ultimately, the night belonged to Vyctorius Miller, whose outstanding 30-point performance underscored his emerging significance as a key player for Oklahoma State this season.
