With the much-anticipated release of Border 2 on the horizon, excitement is palpable for its soundtrack, especially the revamped classic Sandese Aate Hai. Esteemed composer Mithoon is set to breathe new life into this cherished song, assembling an exceptional ensemble: Sonu Nigam, Arijit Singh, Diljit Dosanjh, and Vishal Mishra.
The new rendition, Sandese Aate Hai 2.0, boasts contributions from over 100 backing vocalists and has been meticulously crafted over the past year. A dedicated team of 500 technical experts, including orchestral musicians and sound engineers, collaborated to deliver a rich, emotionally impactful version. Additionally, the leading vocalists have spent half a year at Yash Raj Studios, fine-tuning their harmonies and orchestral layers.
To secure the rights for the song, producers invested an impressive ₹10 crore, ensuring this update honors the emotional essence of the original work, steering clear of superficial embellishments. Approval for this reimagining was also received from original composer Anu Malik.
The music video will be filmed in a majestic outdoor location, showcasing Sunny Deol (sung by Arijit Singh), Varun Dhawan (represented by Vishal Mishra), Ahan Shetty (voiced by Sonu Nigam), and Diljit Dosanjh (as himself).
Initially composed by Anu Malik with lyrics by Javed Akhtar for JP Dutta’s 1997 film, the original Sandese Aate Hai emerged as a patriotic anthem and remains a celebrated piece of Bollywood history. Mithoon, who previously revived Udd Ja Kale Kawa for Gadar 2, brings his talent for modernizing legendary tracks to this project.
Border 2 is a collaborative production by JP Dutta, Bhushan Kumar, and Nidhi Dutta, directed by Anurag Singh, featuring a cast that includes Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, Ahan Shetty, Sonam Bajwa, Mona Singh, Medha Rana, and Paramvir Cheema. The film is set to premiere on January 22, aligning with the Republic Day weekend.
