Dubai Baja 2025: Al Balooshi Crowned Champion in Thrilling Finale

Post by : Mariam Al-Faris

The thrilling conclusion of the Dubai International Baja 2025 took place this Sunday after the challenging 270km Zayed and Rashid Stage 3 in the Al Qudra Desert. This final route signaled the end of the season for both FIA and FIM Baja World Cup competitors. Athletes from across the globe convened, all determined to end the racing year on a triumphant note.

A standout moment from the event was UAE's Mohammed Al Balooshi, who made history by clinching his fourth FIM Bajas World Cup title—becoming the first ever rider to reach this landmark. His composed and assured performance over the three days of racing in Hatta and Al Qudra illustrated why he holds a reputation as one of the elite riders in international baja motorcycling. Al Balooshi’s stellar results further cemented his status as the premier Emirati athlete in this sport.

Throughout the event, Al Balooshi maintained a steady focus, even amidst pressure. Each stage highlighted his extensive knowledge and expertise in desert racing. Achieving his fourth world title not only signifies a personal milestone but also serves as a source of pride for the motorsport community in the UAE, inspiring a new generation of riders who regard him as a role model.

The Quads category showcased thrilling performances as well, with UAE's Abdulaziz Ahli once more proving his mettle by winning at the Dubai International Baja. His race was riddled with mechanical issues that almost led to his withdrawal, yet he persevered, displaying resilience and determination. Although he surrendered the last stage to Poland’s Marcin Wilkolek, his substantial lead ensured he triumphed overall by more than 15 minutes. This victory exemplified his superior prowess and solidified his position within quad racing.

In the cars category, Juan Cruz Yacopini from Argentina, alongside co-driver Dani Oliveras, celebrated a significant win by taking home the Dubai International Rally title for the first time. This victory marked Yacopini’s fifth win out of six races this season, reflecting his consistency and expertise. The accomplishment further enhanced the Toyota Hilux team’s profile, wrapping up the year on a high note and providing confidence as they look forward to upcoming competitions.

The Dubai International Baja 2025 reaffirmed its standing as one of the most prestigious events in desert racing. Challenging dunes, lengthy stages, and unpredictable conditions tested competitors’ skills and endurance throughout the three days. Athletes faced rocky trails, soft sands, sharp turns, and soaring temperatures.

Despite the hurdles, the event culminated in exciting finishes and unforgettable narratives. Enthusiasts, teams, and officials lauded the event's organization and the impressive level of talent on display. Additionally, the Baja underscored the UAE’s significant contribution to international motorsport, particularly in the realm of off-road and desert racing.

This year’s edition will be remembered for its record-setting accomplishments, intense rivalries, and inspiring athlete performances across all categories. As the motorsport season wraps up, competitors will take a well-deserved break before gearing up for the next season’s challenges, eager to return even stronger.
