In a candid revelation, actress Mona Singh, who plays Neeta Singh in *The Ba**ds of Bollywood*, shared a delightful behind-the-scenes story from the show's set. During a shooting session for the modern adaptation of the 1997 song Duniya Haseeno Ka Mela from Gupt, she experienced a surprising moment when Shah Rukh Khan visited. There to support his son Aryan Khan in his directorial debut, Mona found it challenging to perform with him nearby.
She shared how Khan would occasionally stop by the production, but on this particular day, his presence made her notably uneasy while trying to execute her dance routine. Mona humorously told him, “Sir, you cannot be here! I can’t do this in front of you.” Shah Rukh chuckled and advised her to maintain her professionalism; however, she insisted he step aside, leading to a fun and friendly interaction.
The dance scene quickly gained popularity following the series' premiere. In the new version, Mona's likeness is digitally integrated into a dancer from the original video, starring Bobby Deol. Her social media was bombarded with reactions and memes, highlighting the song's resurgence. Suggested by her team, she engaged with the trend, calling the fan response overwhelming.
This recreated song also serves a crucial narrative function, enhancing the relationship between Neeta and Ajay Talvar, played by Bobby Deol. The plot thickens when Aasman Singh discovers he is Neeta and Ajay's illegitimate son, making the song's context even more significant.
*The Ba**ds of Bollywood* represents Aryan Khan’s inaugural directorial venture and boasts an impressive cast, including Raghav Juyal, Sahher Bambba, Aanya Singh, Manish Chaudhari, Manoj Pahwa, Gautami Kapoor, Vijayant Kohli, and Rajat Bedi. Currently available for streaming, the seven-episode series is receiving acclaim not only for its performances and storytelling but also for entertaining behind-the-scenes tales like Mona’s.
