Monzo's Double Payday Initiative Offers UK Customers Salary Boost

Post by : Raina Al-Fahim

Monzo, the pioneering digital bank in the UK, has launched an innovative program known as ‘Double Payday’, designed to give ten fortunate account holders the opportunity to double their salaries each month. This exciting initiative aims to brighten the holiday season for Monzo users, as highlighted by The Metro.

Commencing on December 8, Monzo customers who receive their salary through Bacs will be automatically entered into the Double Payday draw without needing to sign up. Winners will see their pay—up to a maximum of 10,000 Pounds—doubled by Monzo, meaning a customer with a salary of 2,000 Pounds could receive 4,000 Pounds directly into their account on payday.

Richard Cadman, Senior Product Director at Monzo, emphasized that this initiative is a thrilling advancement in their existing early-payment features. He stated, “Our users appreciate the early access to their salaries with Monzo. With the introduction of the Double Payday, we elevate that experience by giving them the chance to genuinely double their pay every month,” he noted. Cadman added that the program is part of Monzo’s broader strategy to enrich the payday experience while sustaining its growth in the UK market.

The Monzo Double Payday initiative expands on their ‘Paid Early’ service, allowing customers to receive Bacs salary payments up to a day in advance of their scheduled payday, with a cap of 20,000 Pounds. This new offering further solidifies Monzo’s image as a consumer-centric and innovative bank amidst a competitive fintech landscape.

Having recently welcomed over 13 million customers, Monzo has now surpassed rival Starling Bank, though it still trails behind fintech titan Revolut, which has around 50 million users. To enter the Double Payday draw, customers must ensure that their salaries are directly deposited into their Monzo accounts by the final day of each month. Random selections will occur on the first working day of the subsequent month, with qualifying salary payments ranging from 300 Pounds to 20,000 Pounds.

For those in the UK hoping for a financial lift during the festive season, Monzo's Double Payday initiative presents a unique chance to elevate their salary effortlessly, marking a significant development in the digital banking sphere.
