Mother Participates in Search for Her Missing Children in Nova Scotia

Post by : Shweta

Almost a year after the troubling disappearance of her two children in Nova Scotia, their mother has actively participated in a volunteer-led initiative to uncover the truth. Malehya Brooks-Murray took part in a recent search operation near Lansdowne, where her children, Jack and Lilly Sullivan, were last spotted in May 2025.

The search was organized by Please Bring Me Home, an organization dedicated to helping locate missing persons across Canada. Approximately 40 volunteers, along with a specially trained dog for human-remains detection, scoured wooded trails and neighboring regions around the family residence. During the search, a significant potential clue – a child-sized boot print – was found less than a kilometer from where a piece of Lilly's blanket had been discovered earlier. This information and its GPS coordinates have been forwarded to investigators.

Despite this potential breakthrough, questions linger. Organizers noted the challenge of determining the age of the footprint or whether it connects to the missing siblings. Nonetheless, this finding has reignited hope that additional evidence might surface as the search progresses.

At the time of their disappearance, Jack was four years old and Lilly was six. Their mother and her former partner, Daniel Martell, reported the children missing after realizing they might have sneaked out of their home unnoticed. Their account revealed they were inside resting when they noticed the kids were gone. This case swiftly gained traction as one of the most followed missing persons investigations in the area.

Over the past year, this incident has attracted significant public interest and speculation, particularly on social media. Brooks-Murray has mostly kept silent about the situation but recently opened up about her emotional distress, revealing she left the area shortly after the incident. She reassured that she has been fully cooperating with law enforcement while focusing on caring for her younger child.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police are still investigating the case, considering various scenarios, including accidental wandering and possible criminal activity. Authorities have also confirmed they are reviewing digital evidence as part of the ongoing inquiry.

Search organizers highlighted that the decision to involve the mother stemmed from their belief in her innocence and her unwavering commitment to finding her children. Volunteers characterized her involvement as encouraging and proactive, aiding in the coordination of search teams and addressing their needs in the field.

As the investigation continues nearly a year later, the enigma surrounding Jack and Lilly Sullivan’s disappearance endures. However, both investigators and volunteers express their unwavering commitment to finding answers, whether through continued search efforts or new insights into the case.
