Mumbai Traveler Shows How to Experience Japan for ₹1.25 Lakh

Post by : Saif Al-Najjar

A Mumbai-based traveler has proven that a visit to Japan can fit within a budget. Charmy, a travel content creator, showcased how she completed an enriching 9-day journey through Japan for merely ₹1.25 lakh. Her adventure encourages many to consider international travel without breaking the bank.

In a video shared on her Instagram account, Charmy Travels, on October 17, she expressed surprise at the ongoing perception that Japan is an expensive destination. During her video, she noted, “For ₹1,25,000, I managed all of my 9 days in Japan, and I'll share a detailed cost breakdown with you.”

Effective Budgeting and Strategic Choices

Charmy emphasized that detailed planning and early bookings were the keys to keeping her costs low. She reserved her flights ahead of time and opted for budget accommodations throughout Japan. Her travel route was Mumbai → Tokyo → Osaka → Tokyo → Mumbai, with total airfare costing ₹40,600 per person.

For her stay, she mixed hotels and Airbnb options, staying in Tokyo at a hotel for approximately ₹5,600 nightly, while in Kyoto she found an Airbnb for around ₹2,500 per night and her Osaka hotel came to ₹3,800 per night. Altogether, her accommodation costs totaled ₹35,000 per person.

Activities, Dining, and Transport

Charmy prepaid for her main activities, racking up around ₹32,200 for exciting excursions, sightseeing, and city experiences.

Her costs for food and transport across the trip reached about ₹17,000 to ₹18,000. Ultimately, she calculated that her entire experience—factoring in flights, lodging, activities, transport, and meals—came to just ₹1.25 lakh. She humorously noted, “Don’t even ask about my shopping expenses; that's a story for a different time.”

Setting an Example for Budget Travelers

Charmy’s journey illustrates that international travel can be affordable with efficient planning. She advised pre-booking to stave off high last-minute costs, mixing hotel stays with Airbnb choices, and opting for local transport to trim expenses.

Her post has sparked enthusiasm among her followers, encouraging them to plan budget-friendly trips. “Make sure to save this and start planning your next trip to Japan soon!” she wrote in her social media update.

Motivating Fellow Explorers

Numerous commenters appreciated Charmy for her transparent sharing of expenses and practical pricing. Many expressed long-standing dreams to explore Japan, previously held back by cost concerns. Some even inquired about her day-by-day itinerary to help in their own travel planning.

Japan is celebrated for its captivating culture, exquisite cuisine, tidy cities, and robust public transport. With the comprehensive outline provided by Charmy, more Indian travelers are starting to realize that discovering Japan isn’t just reserved for those with deep pockets.

Her posts serve as an inspiration for travel enthusiasts worried about expenses. The journey that Charmy undertook in Japan demonstrates that with thoughtful planning, adaptability, and savvy bookings, achieving a memorable and affordable vacation is entirely feasible.
