Nepal Aims to Chase 52-Run Target Against Malaysia in Semifinal

Post by : Raina Al-Fahim

In a thrilling semifinal of the ACC Men’s U-19 Premier Cup Cricket Tournament taking place in the United Arab Emirates, Malaysia has set a target of 52 runs for Nepal to pursue. The match unfolded at the Ajman ground, where Malaysia batted first after losing the toss but faced tough resistance from a formidable Nepalese bowling lineup.

Malaysia was dismissed for a mere 51 runs in 17.2 overs. Among the batters, Hamzah Pangi scored 13 runs, while Muhammad Fatul Muin added 11 runs. The rest struggled to make an impact, underscoring Nepal’s impressive bowling.

Nepal’s bowlers shone brightly. Nitish Kumar Patel was outstanding, securing four crucial wickets, while Chandan Ram followed closely with three. Captain Ashok Dhami, Roshan Bishwakarma, and Aparajit Paudel each took a wicket, preventing Malaysia from posting a formidable score.

Both teams have showcased remarkable form during the tournament. Nepal advanced to the semifinals as group winners of Group ‘A’, while Malaysia topped Group ‘D’. The stakes are elevated, as the victorious team will earn a place in the esteemed U-19 Asia Cup, making this matchup even more significant.

With a target of 52 runs, Nepal will aim to create solid partnerships and chase down the total confidently, seeking a spot in the final. Fans are on the edge of their seats, eager to see the outcome, as both teams have demonstrated grit and skill throughout the tournament. With Asia Cup qualification at stake, this semifinal promises an exhilarating clash for U-19 cricket enthusiasts across the continent.
