New Murabba Showcases Riyadh Vision At Expo 2025 Osaka

Post by : Mariam Al-Faris

New Murabba Development Company, a subsidiary of Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF), recently participated in Expo 2025 Osaka. The company used this international platform to present its vision for a smart, sustainable, and people-centered downtown for Riyadh. The participation highlighted the role of design, technology, and community values in improving quality of life. It also provided a chance for the company to meet Japanese and international partners, innovators, and stakeholders to discuss future collaboration opportunities.

Focus On People-Centered Downtown

The core idea of New Murabba’s presentation was to show how the city can focus on people while embracing modern technology and sustainable design. The company emphasized creating spaces that improve daily life, encourage social interaction, and reflect cultural identity. By putting people at the center of development, New Murabba aims to make Riyadh a vibrant, inclusive, and liveable city, balancing modern urban needs with cultural heritage.

Leadership Sessions And Panels

At Expo 2025, New Murabba’s CEO, Michael Dyke, delivered a keynote titled “Building the Future: From Vision to Reality.” In his speech, Dyke explained how the company plans to transform Riyadh into a global hub by combining innovation, sustainability, and culture. Additionally, Chief Development Officer Carl Schibrowski participated in a panel discussion titled “Thriving Economy,” which focused on economic growth, investment, and city development. These sessions allowed New Murabba to highlight its vision while sharing insights with global leaders, investors, and innovators.

Innovation And Technology Integration

New Murabba’s vision for downtown Riyadh includes integrating the latest technologies into urban planning. The company showcased how smart infrastructure, digital solutions, and innovative transport systems can enhance city life. The use of technology is designed to make daily life easier, reduce environmental impact, and create more connected communities. These initiatives demonstrate Saudi Arabia’s commitment to using innovation for sustainable urban growth and global competitiveness.

Cultural Identity And Heritage

While embracing modernity, New Murabba also stressed the importance of cultural identity in city planning. The destination is designed to reflect Saudi Arabia’s heritage through architecture, public spaces, and cultural landmarks. A key feature is the Mukaab, an iconic structure inspired by Salmani architecture. This landmark is intended to be both a cultural symbol and a center for social gatherings, representing Riyadh’s balance of history, culture, and modern urban life.

Investment Opportunities In Riyadh

During the Expo, CEO Michael Dyke highlighted several investment opportunities within New Murabba’s development plans. These include the Mukaab, as well as a world-class stadium with over 45,000 seats planned to host matches during the 2034 FIFA World Cup. Such projects are designed to attract both domestic and international investors, supporting economic growth and positioning Riyadh as a competitive destination for business and tourism. These opportunities also demonstrate how infrastructure projects can create jobs and strengthen the local economy.

Global Collaboration And Partnerships

New Murabba used Expo 2025 Osaka as a platform to strengthen international partnerships. Meetings with Japanese and other global innovators focused on knowledge sharing, sustainable design practices, and technological collaboration. These interactions aim to foster long-term cooperation, helping Riyadh learn from international best practices while contributing Saudi expertise to global urban development discussions.

Economic Transformation And Growth

The company’s participation emphasized how urban development can drive economic transformation. By creating innovative public spaces, investment opportunities, and iconic landmarks, New Murabba is helping Riyadh become a hub for business, tourism, and culture. The panel discussions and leadership sessions highlighted how strategic city planning can attract global attention, boost trade, and support economic diversification.

Sustainable And Smart Urban Design

Sustainability is a key theme in New Murabba’s downtown plans. The company showcased eco-friendly buildings, green spaces, and smart city infrastructure. Sustainable urban design not only helps the environment but also improves quality of life by reducing congestion, improving air quality, and creating enjoyable public spaces. This approach aligns with Saudi Arabia’s broader vision for sustainable development and technological progress.

Vision For The Future

New Murabba’s participation in Expo 2025 Osaka presented a clear picture of Riyadh’s future as a smart, culturally rich, and economically vibrant city. The company’s vision combines modern technology, sustainability, cultural identity, and investment potential. By engaging with international partners, innovators, and investors, New Murabba is laying the foundation for Riyadh to become a globally recognized destination for living, business, and tourism.
