The Indian equity market is anticipated to commence on a cautious note this Friday, reflecting significant declines in international markets. Investors are preparing for increased volatility as they await the upcoming Bihar election results, forecasted to influence market sentiment.
Initial indicators from the GIFT Nifty point to a weaker start, trading around 25,844, approximately 110 points lower than the last Nifty futures closing. The previous day's trading concluded mostly unchanged, with the Sensex rising by just 12 points to 84,478, while the Nifty 50 slightly increased by 3 points to finish at 25,879, amid profit-taking at high levels.
Sensex Perspective
In light of a recent upward trajectory, the Sensex has experienced some profit-taking near key resistance levels. Analysts indicate that the 20-day Simple Moving Average at 84,200 serves as a vital support level. As long as the index remains above this mark, short-term trends are likely to stay positive. A breach above 85,000 could accelerate movements toward 85,300, whereas a drop below 84,200 might see the market testing the 84,000–83,700 range.
Nifty 50 Analysis
The Nifty 50 has exhibited indecision, forming a doji-like candle on its daily chart with extended shadows, indicating ongoing market fluctuations. Support is anticipated between 25,750–25,700, with resistance forecasted around 26,000. Analysts stress that a significant move beyond 26,000 may ignite a fresh upward trend towards 26,300. Conversely, a decline beneath 25,700 could trigger some short-term profit-taking.
Bank Nifty Evaluation
The Bank Nifty index retained a bullish trend, closing at 58,381, peaking at 58,615 during the session. Critical support is at 58,000, while resistance is noted between 58,500–58,600. Steady buying in leading banking institutions sustains the optimistic momentum, though any dip below 58,000 could result in short-term consolidation.
Given the external pressures from global markets and the uncertainty surrounding the Bihar election results, traders are likely to take a cautious stance. The broader market continues to navigate through a consolidation phase, presenting both risks and potential opportunities for investors who remain attentive to support and resistance levels.
