Post by : Mariam Al-Faris

Obhur Corniche in Jeddah has been transformed into a busy workshop as preparations get underway for the F1H2O UIM World Championship ahead of the inaugural Jeddah Grand Prix 2025. The event will feature approximately 20 high-speed powerboats from around 10 international teams, making it one of the most exciting marine sports competitions in the region.

Teams and their crews are actively preparing for the championship. Maintenance crews are lifting and transporting the boats for detailed mechanical inspections, while technical teams are checking engines, fuel systems, and navigation tools to ensure top performance. The setup at Obhur Corniche includes specialized jetties, maintenance zones, and spectator platforms, providing visitors with clear views of the action on the sea circuit.

The championship officially kicks off today with free practice sessions. These sessions allow teams to test their boats and adjust settings according to the sea conditions. After practice, teams will participate in qualifying rounds to determine starting positions for the races. The excitement builds over the next few days with several speed races, leading up to the main event on Saturday. The Jeddah Grand Prix 2025 Main Race will conclude the championship, followed by an award ceremony to honor the winners.

This championship is a key part of Jeddah Season 2025, which highlights the city as a growing hub for international sports and entertainment events. Hosting a high-profile marine race such as the F1H2O UIM World Championship not only promotes the Kingdom’s tourism but also contributes to economic growth and positions Jeddah on the global sports map. Spectators can expect thrilling performances, strategic racing, and advanced boat technology on full display throughout the event.

The Jeddah Grand Prix 2025 also emphasizes teamwork and innovation. International crews are bringing the latest in marine engineering, including advanced hull designs, high-powered engines, and digital navigation systems. Teams will compete in challenging conditions on the Corniche, where the combination of speed, skill, and strategy will determine the winners.

Organizers have ensured that the event is accessible and enjoyable for families, sports enthusiasts, and tourists. Alongside the racing, there will be entertainment zones, food and beverage options, and interactive areas where visitors can learn about the sport and the technology behind marine racing.

The Jeddah Grand Prix 2025 is more than just a race; it is a celebration of international collaboration, sportsmanship, and the Kingdom’s growing role as a host for global marine and motorsport events. By combining high-speed action, innovative technology, and entertainment, the event promises an unforgettable experience for everyone attending.
